07.01.2022 Do you know your point of difference and how to apply it purposefully to increase your visibility and influence? If you are an emerging or established female #STEM leader, you have spent years mastering your expertise and proving your capability. Hoping to be noticed, but blending in, not speaking out. You’re really good at what you do, and you have value to add. But you can’t add that value if you don’t make yourself visible. Acknowledge your differences as your point of dif...ference. And make that point of difference visible to others, by speaking up, sharing, contributing. What is your point of difference? Your technical or other subject matter expertise? Relationship-building or collaboration expertise? Unique experiences? If it’s not immediately clear to you, take some time to identify your point of difference. Ask others what they most value about your uniqueness. Working in a technical field, one of my points of difference is my ability to quickly adapt to any situation by asking the right questions. This has enabled me to embrace a range of different roles outside my experience and expertise, confidently step into any meeting at any level, and be known as someone who could reliably resolve issues. How can you apply your point of difference more purposefully? What’s one thing you will do to start using your point of difference to become more visible. If you would like to increase your visibility and influence as an emerging or established STEM female leader, the Women Who Lead STEM Mastermind can help you achieve that: https://ayaleadership.com/women-who-lead/ Look out for the upcoming Free LIVE Women in STEM webinars over the next few weeks exploring barriers to leadership and how to navigate them. #stemcareers #stemwomen #femaleleaders #womensleadership #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #leadershiptips #influencingskills

05.01.2022 STEM women, let’s talk #resilience. For #STEMwomen lockdown has been more than just juggling home schooling and working from home. If you’re in the research field, your research has been paused. If you are an early-mid career researcher, this is having a significant impact on your research outputs, publication levels, and future career certainty and opportunities. If you do have employment certainty, you’re probably missing out on professional development opportunities and n...etworking with other STEM women, both of which support STEM women in their career advancement. So WHY are we talking about RESILIENCE? Resilience is a protective factor for the barriers to career advancement that exist for women in STEM. RESILIENCE provides the capacity to deal with adversity in a positive way, to adapt and turn challenges into opportunities. I can help you build RESILIENCE through providing knowledge, strategies, tools, discussions and coaching that you can use with yourself, your team and even your stakeholders. With a focus on strengthening emotional resilience, Aya Leadership’s The Resilient Leader program is an engaging workshop that explores how to build personal and team resilience: Understand the neuroscience of emotions Learn how to better manage and use the emotions of yourself and others for greater wellbeing, communication, and decision-making Learn how to build strong personal resilience and apply resilience strategies to support yourself and your staff Understand how to build resilience in teams Set goals for building resilience in self and team We are delivering three more digital workshops for 2021 and would love you to join us: 30 September and 1 October, 9am-4pm 14, 15 and 22 October, 9am-1pm 11, 12 and 19 November, 9am-1pm For Mental Health Month, the October program is discounted. Learn more and register here: https://ayaleadership.com/resilient-leader/ Over the last 9 months, The Resilient Leader has helped more than 40 leaders improve their own resilience and foster greater resilience in their teams, enabling them to increase personal energy, better manage their own emotions for effective communication, maintain connection with their teams and avoid staff burnout, and navigate the ongoing virtual work environment to maintain productivity. If you’re feeling stuck and need some 1:1 support, get in touch and we can jump on a quick call and talk through how to get you back on track. #STEMwomen #stem #stemeducation #STEMinist #femaleleadership #womensleadership #leadershipdevelopment

02.01.2022 Women in #STEM need to know how to navigate the barriers to leadership development. Two important protective factors that negate the leadership barriers for #stemwomen are visibility and leadership development. Visibility comes from promoting yourself strategically and intentionally, communicating with influence and sharing expertise, and leads to both job satisfaction and career progression. Leadership occurs at all levels and doesn’t require a leadership title or managemen...t responsibility. #leadershipdevelopment must be anchored in purpose and mission, and be authentic to you. If you are ready to become more visible, increase your confidence and feel empowered in your STEM career, Aya Leadership’s tailored leadership development program for women in STEM can help you achieve that. The Women Who Lead STEM Mastermind is a 6-month leadership development program that leverages the full range of protective factors, growing your leadership capability, confidence and success, so as you can navigate the leadership barriers that exist for you, and achieve the visibility, influence and impact that you are seeking. The next Women Who Lead STEM Mastermind commences on 16 September and I would love for you to join us. Visit https://ayaleadership.com/women-who-lead/ or get in touch.
