15.01.2022 Here at AYB I'd like to wish everyone a happy holiday and festive season! Whilst is has been a wild ride this year I want to thank everyone for their support and for continuing to work towards their goals despite the difficulties we all experienced. But we did it together and it's been a pleasure to be able to help you achieve that, both face to face when able and online. So, relax, enjoy some time with family and friends and if you are going away stay safe and have a fabul...ous time! Merry Christmas! And I look forward to seeing you all again, both old and new friends, in the new year.

11.01.2022 Even during Covid our runners have been working hard to maintain their training for the Melb Mara which starts this weekend. Everyone decided that they wanted to complete it on a certain day rather than just do the run on their own. So this coming weekend, on Sunday 6th Dec, our runners will be completing their run at a socially acceptable distance with our own start and finish line with checkpoints along the way providing our runners with their own individuals drinks. It has... been a very fun and interesting lead up and mapping out of an event that would normally see everyone finished in the MCG with all the excitement that brings. As this was the first half mara for some I wanted to make it special. A lot of planning and creativity went into making this Covid safe but I think this is still going to be a run to remember! AYBers, maps and instructions will be provided at group training tonight or via the private chat group. This is it.... the final countdown

05.01.2022 These legends What I love about a running event is the camaraderie that comes with it. Everyone is there for the same thing. To be the best they can be. Not to be better than the person next to them. And that is what I love about the running community, the love of the sport and that love shows up when everyone comes together and encourages, supports and motivates each other. Shout out to the Gen Run runners who were there creating an event of it for their crew too! This y...ear there was no formal event for the Melbourne Marathon but there were plenty of runners out of the trails on Sat and Sun doing their own runs to complete the virtual event. There were no large crowds, no drink station, no event organisers, and no run into the MCG. So AYB Runners took it upon themselves to create a mini event. Those that were running started from Koomba Park and ran out and back to 1km past Dorset Road. Those of us who were support crew waited with drinks, lollies and encouragement at Wantirna Road, HE Parker Reserve and Dorset Road. And best of all one of our runners' dads rode out and back with them keeping them supported and hydrated. It was such a lovely gesture and greatly appreciated... he is definitely an honourary AYBer! And despite the rain and wind several of our runners achieved the PBs they had been working towards this past 12 weeks. Our youngest member Flynn shaved 6mins off his half mara time to finish in 1.34mins and Shell backed up her half mara from Oct with another 12mins off her Oct time! Well done legends, you have well and truly earned a rest (you still have t run tonight though ) #melbournemarathon #aybrunners #runninggoals #runsquad #runningmotivation #running #runningcommunity #runninglife #maroondah #ringwood #halfmarathon

05.01.2022 Its busy here on Dandy Creek Trail with so many out doing the Melbourne Mara. It might not be the usual event but the camaraderie along the trail is great! Team AYB is about half way through.

04.01.2022 TUESDAY TRAINING SESSION Tonight's session will be a nice easy recovery run with nothing too technical, post Melb Mara last Sunday. Remember, recovery is important even if you feel pretty good. It's easy to underestimate how much work your body has done especially if you feel good afterwards. But rest and recovery is important to let the body heal, and continue uninterrupted on your training path.... Tonight it's all about recovery and stretching, because you know how much I love a good stretch. I will have mats and cleaning products but if you want to bring your own mat feel free. Well done crew, you were all awesome last Sunday (more pics to come)
