10.01.2022 Congratulations ladies you have done our Club proud.

10.01.2022 Once again we are going to try to play bowls. We are still limited with numbers. We can have up to 20 patrons/Players so will organise a group on Wednesday (today) so that we can get the maximum players allowed on the green. As always the wellbeing of our Members comes first. We ask that you get names in if you are interested before 12.30. We will also start Saturday afternoons again. Same will apply there. We can only take 20 at a time so get your name in early. Unfortunately there will be those that miss out because of the limited numbers. We apologise for this but hope we can get more people playing soon. We will have strict procedures in place but we are sure players will understand.

08.01.2022 Good news. Ayr Bowls Club is open for rollup as of yesterday. Unfortunately still under strict guidelines but it is a start. If you wish to have a rollup you must restrict numbers to 10 per green and 4 per rink. Wednesday arvo we will be open on a first in best dressed basis. If you want to go down at other times, you will need to contact a Committee member. We are also going to organise a rollup on Saturday arvo. Cheers. Chris

07.01.2022 The ladies went down 17 - 14 to South Townsville

06.01.2022 Another great year (or half half year due to COVID) of Wednesday night bowls has wrapped up with our breakup/presentation night. Bowlers of the year were Joe & Robyn. Many thanks to our long-standing sponsor About Town Bait & Tackle. We will commence night bowls again on 27 January 2021.

06.01.2022 Premier Cup results Well the girls were on fire with three wins today. Today’s game scores were Alligator Creek 37 - 11; Jubilee 30 - 12 & Suburban 21 - 17

06.01.2022 Well, we may be getting writers cramp with all the signing in and out we are required to do at this time but we are playing bowls. Thanks to all concerned for their efforts in making it happen. We will be playing on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. We have also received our $2000 Sports and Rec Grant that we will put to good use.

06.01.2022 Sadly following a meeting/gathering with representatives of NQ bowls with input from BQ the committee of the Ayr Mens Bowls Club has decided that we can no longer viably hold wednesday or saturday bowls days. It has been made increasingly hard for us to operate and feel that the risks to the Clubs future is too high. Members need to voice their opinions with BQ and NQ for this to change. I personally don't feel that we in the North are being looked after or that our concerns are being listened to. My apologies and I hope that this decision (not taken lightly) may change in the near future. Support us by making your feelings known to Qld Health, BQ, NQ Bowls and your local Member. Cheers. Chris
