21.01.2022 When we train and grow in our body and minds it is a process of fortification over many lessons and times. It does not happen by itself or in an instant. It is the sum of all efforts, defeats and victories. Believe in yourself and be strong, more strength will come

21.01.2022 We had some very happy students at our first Beacon Hill grading before the holidays! Look at those smiles When teaching a martial artist mindset of self-confidence, determination, success and a modus operandi for life - it's important to teach the value of steps and through the sum of many efforts or steps you can achieve great things. Sometimes we don't achieve what we want, this is just another step in the process. We strive to teach students never to give up so they ...can manage their own goals and take responsibility for themselves, knowing that with consistent focus and applied effort - they can achieve anything, not just in karate but in life. This is Sensei Ben's second school, he also teaches at Bellevue Hill and is second in charge at Seaforth one of the largest schools in the Northern Beaches. Ben is extremely passionate about visiting nearly all schools within our organisation and makes huge contributions anywhere he is. Considering how hard it has been with Covid, he has done an amazing job with Beacon Hill and is as excited as the students about the schools very first in person grading. Well done Students, Sensei Ben & Instructor Team Will, Stephen & Aaron for an expertly run grading with amazing results. Congratulations all we are very proud of you. On to the next step

19.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY It was the early 2000’s and Sensei Matt our chief Instructor stepped into the ring to lead our team and remind everyone how versatile Kenpo... Freestyle is. Sensei Matt has won many championships both in the US before this video & after (He will likely require a few throwback thursday's but that tends to happen when you have a Martial arts background and career as long as his). This particular championship match for 1st place goes into overtime and Sensei Matt ends up losing by one point but I must say to my count I beleive he should have been up by 3 points and won, look out for the counter reverse punches ;) ... But that’s the way the game is played. A good sport until the end and the reason why we all follow in his footsteps. Always be humble, says Sensei Matt and that lesson stays with us. Also you will see a sneaky head level heel hook in there too! Not bad Sensei Matt who would like to see Sensei Matt represent the club once more? Comment, like or share if you want to see more throwbacks from our clubs 27 year history

05.01.2022 Parents, students; we are finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. With NSW now 70% fully vaccinated, we will soon be getting back to normal. And th...at includes getting back to our physical classes. But until we get the green light to go ahead, which should happen sometime in November, we will need to continue our classes online. The online classes have become increasingly popular, as our students have found they can still progress and maintain their skills, and most importantly, stay fit and healthy! And for our parents, keep them burning off all that excess energy! We will be starting a new term in the next few days, and the classes will again be posted on https://ikarate.com.au/online-classes/ where you can sign up. This may most likely be the last term we will have to conduct our classes online. We are forever grateful for the parents and students who have kept us alive throughout these challenging times. Our instructors have kept their jobs and livelihoods intact thanks to you. Please support us by taking part online until our normal classes can resume. Sensei Matt
