23.01.2022 Jump for joy! Canberra has reached the next phase of the #COVID19 response and will be easing further restrictions from midnight tonight. Yay! One of the changes to the restrictions is that now Canberrans can have indoor and outdoor gatherings up to 10 people, including children. Still keep the 1.5 metres distance. Still washing hands. Here in Canberra, our kids started to go back to school, more people allowed to gather, outside, restaurants/cafes open to limited people, and some businesses started to ‘wake up’ from the mandatory hibernation. ... 16.01.2022 Docking. This is Billy. Billy is our beloved dog, who is also the official counsellor of our home’s workplace/school in this period of restriction. He goes to any room where he is needed to handle variety of issues that includes, but not limited to: teenage angst, mental freak out due to internet breakdown, miscommunications, and also any (mis)behaviour caused by cabin fever. . He is our family’s mental health’s charger. All day, 24/7. His cuddles have healing properties. A...ll these pack problems can take a toll on a dog, so he is also using us as his energy charger. We call it his docking session. He would put his head between our legs, looking backwards, while we vigorously caress/massage his body down to his tail until he releases himself from the grip of our legs. If we move away before what he thinks is the appropriate docking time, he will go to another set of available legs, or re enter the position between the same legs until he is fully charged. It is totally his call. Heroes do come without capes, and we are lucky that Billy is ours. Take good care of your mental health, go give your furry babies some extra cuddles. 11.01.2022 Walk the Talk Finally. I managed to haul my ass in front of the camera, instead of hiding behind it, and created a few self portraits today. For years I have been telling advising my clients to not be afraid, or nervous, and try to relax and give me that gorgeous natural smile. Take yourself and your family for a photo session every year to keep your profile photo or family photos FRESH! Meanwhile, it took me ‘just’ six years to update my own profile photo. My younge...st kid has started and graduated primary school in those six years. I know right?! No more of that now. I will follow my own advice and I promise to refresh my photo every year.
