25.01.2022 When we say we wet sanded a car, we mean the whole thing, not a few spots. These pics are after 2 stages by hand, but there are another 2 stages after this to get the finish we are after. Wet sanding is done to remove the orange peel finish that’s in most paints by sanding the high peaks off til the paint is flat, going through various grades of sanding paper, then it is polished to look more like a mirror. Finished pics will be posted tomorrow afternoon when the job is completed. A general time frame for this type of work is 2-4 days depending on what is needed to get the desired finish.

24.01.2022 This Nissan Navara D22 was faded, chalky, stained, and also had some metal filings, black mould spots on the roof and canopy, and rough paint. We posted the pics of during and after the chemical decontamination stage earlier today, and these are the finished pics after the mechanical decontamination, single stage paint correction which we aimed to make the paint shine again and remove 70-80% of the marks from 4wding, and added 2 coats of Kamikaze Overcoat paint sealant to help keep the paint shiney and protected for up to 6 months.

24.01.2022 We were called to fix the swirls and holograms left in this Volvo after a previous ‘detail’ by someone else. We started with a wash and decontamination to remove any waxes and polish residue, remove the roughness on the paint, as well as tar spots. After a test spot, a single stage machine polish gave us the results we were after, removing al the holograms and the majority of scratches in the paint. Once the polishing was finished, the paint was sealed for protection, leaving the finish you see in the pictures.

23.01.2022 These before and after pics show how a minor detail can improve the look of your car. Usually we would either do an express detail or mini detail, but to keep costs down, we went for a job between the 2. There was more time spent than an express detail, but less than a mini detail. It’s not aimed at a being a perfect detailed finish, but a huge improvement on what we start with.

23.01.2022 50 year old Pontiac GTO interior restoration. This Pontiac has been sitting in a shed for quite a few years and had a fair bit of mould over the factory trims. Working on older cars like this isn’t the same as newer ones. If anything gets damaged, it’s not like the materials or parts are available to fix or replace. Older cars have sun damaged parts, materials harden, and some stains have been there that long, and are baked into the surfaces, making removing all of them an im...possible task. A lot of older cars actually have a metallic finish on the vinyls like this blue on the seats and trims. If a chemical sits on the surface even seconds too long, it can easily damage the finish, so a different technique was needed to bring this trim back to new. This interior took the better part of a day to restore it back to as close to new like finish as possible, without damaging any surface. To say the owner was happy would be an understatement. 20.01.2022 When you purchase a new to you, second hand car, you still want it to feel new. This 11yr old Subaru Forrester was in desperate need of clean. The interior was cleaned and chemically wiped for that natural finish (not shiney), leaving a clean smell behind the engine bay and door openings were cleaned to remove years worth of dirt, dust and grime. The whole exterior was chemically washed, and decontaminated to prepare the paint for a 2 stage machine polish. A single stage pol...ish did make a difference, but did leave behind some of the deeper scratches that we wanted to remove. The little bit of extra time spent doing the designated cutting stage, then a refining polishing stage gave the paint the look and finish we wanted, by removing 80-90% of the marks and scratches in the paint, and making that heavy metallic paint sparkle in the sun. Now this customers new family car looks and feels like a new one. See more

19.01.2022 How did yesterday’s E Type Jaguar look in the sun today? I’d say pretty damn good. We finished working on it at 6pm last night, so we didn’t get the chance to see it outside, but this was just posted by the restorer. Pretty happy with the results.

16.01.2022 Having the latest formulation of products helps make your cars shine like new. The latest Kamikaze Over Coat was used on Scott’s 30th R8 Clubsport to make everything on the exterior bead, and be protected from the elements. We coated this car just over 3 years ago when it was brand new in Kamikaze ISM Pro. While Scott does a great job at keeping it looking great, he still gets us to give it a little bit more then a wash to help keep it looking it’s best and maintaining the ceramic coating.

14.01.2022 It’s been a while since we’ve been asked to bring the shine back on a car that when you wipe your finger on it, the colour is left on your finger. This was chalky, dead with minimal reflection to it. It had tree sap, mould, more mould, tar, grime, stained paint, and rough to touch. This car was going to need some serious decontamination work done to clean that paint to be able to put a buff on it. The wheels were sprayed with our standard chemicals, then the whole car was soa...ked in a pre wash foam to loosen everything we could from the paint. You can see in the pics the dirt and grime coming away from the surfaces. After the foam was rinsed, everything was then washed and a mechanical decontamination step was done, which made the paint completely smooth. There was still staining from the tree sap and mould spots all over the car, so it needed more. The paint was then sanded with a 3000 grit sanding pad by hand to make the paint as clean as possible. The paint was then given a single stage machine polish to bring the shine back. This car is used as a 4wd, so removing all the deeper scratches wasn’t what the customer was after, but the majority of the light to medium depth scratches were removed, while bringing the shine back. Trying to remove the deeper ones would remove too much paint on this car, possibly making the paint see through in parts, and cause other problems within a few years, and these cars don’t have a lot to begin with. 09.01.2022 This was the longest sticker removal job we’ve ever done in 21 years! Luckily for us, our customers (husband and wife) helped us remove the stickers and glue, so we could still have the job completed in the booked time frame. Sign writing removal is one of the most difficult job to quote as you just don’t know how easy or hard the stickers will come off. These stickers have been on the van for 10 years and were sun damaged and cracked. We tried every method we knew of, but e...very way we tried, ALL the glue residue was left on the paint, and the stickers kept breaking in small pieces. Fast forward 28 hours work, and the stickers and glue were removed. Then it was onto preparing the paint for a single stage machine polish to make the whole van shine the same, and seal It for protection. 09.01.2022 This E Type Jaguar was originally restored back in 1996/97 by Concours Sports Car Restoration. It lives on the water and get driven regularly, and was showing its age. While it was in getting a scratch repaired, we were asked to make the rest of the car look like the freshly painted panel. 09.01.2022 Here are the after pics of last nights post. This BMW 320d had been washed at the local wash wash using their provided brush. As you can see, it’s not paint safe, and I wouldn’t advise on using it on any vehicles paint work. We were able to achieve these results in just a single stage machine polish. With more time spent, I’m certain we could’ve removed over 90% of the scratches in this cars paint. The aim of this detail was to make it presentable for sale. Going by the owners reaction and comments, we exceeded their expectations. The interior was detailed, engine bay cleaned, door openings cleaned, and the exterior washed, decontaminated, machine polished and sealed, and was all completed in 1 day.

08.01.2022 This is the damage caused by the self service car wash brooms. What makes these brooms so bad for your car? Well, apart from being a brush, you don’t know who used it before you, or what was cleaned. This paint wasn’t only just badly scratched, but had tree sap, tar spots, metal filings, and generally rough paint. After 3-4 different washing and decontamination stages, the paint was ready to be corrected. A 2 stage paint correction was what we needed to do to get the results we were after. Once the polishing stages were finished, the car was panel wiped and prepared to be coated in Angelwax Genesis Ceramic Coating. You should be able to see the difference in the before and after pics. Unfortunately we finished and delivered this car at 9.30pm and we’re unable to get pics in the sun.

This was a well looked after car, but had never been polished since new, and it needed a little more work than the owner could handle. The owner couldn’t be happier with the results, leaving a like new finish inside and out.
