23.01.2022 Whilst everybody was talking US politics and horse races, I was trying to cut a 12inch record with a playing length of 1 hour, 1 minute and 15 seconds, on one s...ide. Can't be done you say. I didn't think so either, but I DID IT. Much adjustment to the record cutting lathe. We might have just gone in the Guinness Book of Records See more

21.01.2022 Released today, one of my favourite aussie bands .......MADDER LAKE........The Live Adventures of Madder Lake". A double CD of mostly unreleased tracks from 197...3-1974. Love the cover. Great photo . Could make for a great LP record cover as well. Available at www.aztecrecords.com.au Mighty LIVE performances from a great band See more

20.01.2022 Never seen this version before, nearly 50 years ago

20.01.2022 This is an automatic "record pressing machine". In a couple weeks there will be an official announcement of the opening of PROGRAM RECORDS. A brand new record... pressing business in Melbourne. It's been a long time in the coming. The COVID-19 virus made things just that bit harder to get this business off the ground. First time in 60 years I reckon that a brand new record pressing plant has been started up. Long overdue I'd say as seeing that "vinyl records" have had a resurgence in the last few years. There has only been one pressing plant available in Australia since the major companies shut down their pressing plants. So it's long overdue for a brand new plant with ALL brand new pressing equipment, to be available to Australian musicians and artists. A large amount of record pressings are and have been done overseas, party due to quality and the turnaround time. PROGRAM RECORDS will concentrate on matching the pricing AND the quality of any other record pressing plant whether it be a local plant or overseas plant. I've always thought that there should be no reason why the quality of the pressings in Australia, shouldn't be as good as the overseas ones. If you have the same equipment and attitude, there is no reason why our pressings can't be as good. So I will make the statement, that our pressings will be as good, if not better, than anyone else. Quality control and mastering will be our main objectives. Turn around times will be an important fixture as well. Pricing will be competitive, if not better, than anywhere else. My involvement in this project is that I will be the house cutting engineer. I will be cutting the master discs in my studio, which is the first phase of the process. Anyone that knows me, knows that my attitude to mastering is :- "this has to be right......it has my name on it" AND "if it takes me a whole day to cut a record properly....then so be it" Test Cuts and Test pressing will be recommended and available. This is an exciting time for Melbourne and it's Artists and musicians. A new record pressing plant that concentrates on Quality and turn around times to match anyone else in the world. And Australian record pressing company, with all manufacturing done in Australia. Mastering, pressing, record sleeves and covers. All Australian. PROGRAM RECORDS ............ Official release date soon (a couple of weeks to go)

19.01.2022 The ARCOBAR is back in full swing..............no thanks to those that made a mountain out of a molehill. Melbourne has always been the music capitol of Austr...alia. We should embrace those businessmen that put their arse's on the line to run a business and help support music. I hope all these artists on this list are ones that don't want to put politics first. The music should come first The sheer hysteria by some (and even more disappointing some that are musicians) over a bloody sign in a small bar just defies description. A sign that would have been seen by 20 people has now been seen by thousands on TV and radio, so the whingers have helped put this music venue back on the map. So perhaps we can thank the likes of those musicians who put politics first and who made public statements like:- "I was going to see Sam See and Glynn MAson and now I'm not"............what a bloody joke and small mindedness all over a sign in a bar that the owner had "HIS RIGHT" to put up. I believe it's called "freedom of speech". Anyway, the "outrageous sign" has been taken down and perhaps the ARCOBAR will be able to thank those with their extreme political views for the publicity that the bar got. Perhaps they did The ARCOBAR a favour. (and lets not talk about the death threats to the owner and the staff and the threats to burn the place down) ALL OVER A SIGN. Some people obviously need to get a life and perhaps cheer up a bit............it appears to me, some live in a very dark place.

15.01.2022 A little bit of UP music whilst we wait for this virus to be over

14.01.2022 WILD WINDS, THUNDERSTORMS AND MADDER LAKE - LIVE. Putting the final touches of a great LIVE double CD to be released soon. The Sydney live stuff "might be" the first AZTEC record ....as in vinyl record release...it's that good

03.01.2022 Some good things happen during this COVID-19 time. A new AZTEC RECORDS release, arrived today. Jackie Orszaczky's album from 1975. I have to say, the music...ianship on this album is world class. Ive heard a lot of Australian Jazz fusion bands, but these guys take the cake. Graham Morgan on drums. Peter Jones on piano and John Robinson on guitar. Recorded at Trafalgar Studios in Sydney and Produced by Charles Fisher and John Sayers, it's one of those Aussie LP's that should have done a lot more than it did. Way before it's time and just an incredible album. First time ever on CD with a bonus track from Jackie's, Marsha Hines band days. Jackie of course was the founding member of the band SYRIUS and also played in Marsha Hines band as well. This is an album that just had to be released because it's up there with the likes of Frank Zappa, Weather Report etc. etc. Is available now at:- www.aztecrecords.com.au Jackie Orszaczky , a truly monster bass player See more

01.01.2022 More pandemic purchases from the amazing Aztec Records. Never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully packaged they are.
