01.01.2022 This is our patient Sophia. She is 3 years old, and at her dental appointment Dr Rea recognised some signs of Sleep Disordered Breathing. We referred her to our ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) specialist, who diagnosed her with large adenoids and tonsils which where obstructing her breathing. She was booked in for surgery to have these out. Now thanks to Dr Deb’s initial screening, she will be able to avoid the nasty side effects that accompany sleep disordered breathing in children, such as behavioural problems, learning difficulties, difficulty concentrating, lower social interaction skills, middle ear fluid build-up, as well as other serious conditions as they get older if left untreated.
