24.01.2022 Sunsets around Lake Wendouree are amazing! So many things to photograph. There is about 6 kms of walking track around the entire lake where you will come across historic boat sheds, a range of birdlife and the old tramway, just to name a few. This is a composite of 3 images. The wind blowing quite strong as can be seen by the flag flapping around during the long exposure shots. Canon 7DMKII ... 24.01.2022 Just when I thought I'd seen everything, I came across an amazing living and forever changing place. This place is alive with geothermal activity, from hot spring water cooling and depositing calcium carbonate. In this case in the form of terraces and pools. Mammoth Hot Springs. Yellowstone NP, Wyoming USA. ... Have you been? Or want to go? @ Yellowstone National Park

20.01.2022 Uluru stands famously in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park A World Heritage Living Cultural Landscape. This was my third visit to Uluru. This place always seems to amaze me with stunning scenery, the weather and the people. I still remember arriving the first time many years ago and thinking that Uluru was quite small seeing it from the plane flying in. But when you get up close you realise it’s massive. Approximately 2.5km in length and 348m high. This stunning sunrise taken ...on 11th Oct 2019. Shortly after the sun briefly disappearing behind a line of clouds in the distance. The temperature had dropped to 13 degrees Celsius overnight, which is not uncommon in the desert. A cool reprieve from the top of 38 degrees Celsius, and 40 the day after! Early morning providing the best time to explore Uluru, walking around the base or even exploring the history at the cultural centre. Many other activities include, walking at Kata Tjuta, scenic flights, Sounds of Silence, camel tours, Field of Lights and many more. Many thanks to Parks Australia, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, The Mutitjulu community, Voyages Ayers Rock Resort Yulara, Avis and Qantas airways. Always great hospitality. Media Permit and images approved for use by Parks Australia. Please message or contact for use. Original image size approximately 3m x 1m. 20.01.2022 Happy 185th Birthday Melbourne! Melbourne was founded on 30th August 1835 by settlers who sailed from Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) abroad the schooner Enterprize. The first permanent settlement was established, located where the immigration museum at the old customs house (cnr William and Flinders st) alongside Enterprize Park.... This is a vintage take on what Flinders Street Station may have looked like back in the day. Minus all the traffic, hustle and bustle. 18.01.2022 That night the aurora lit up the entire sky for almost the whole night. 6th June 2016. This was the largest aurora display we had seen during our expedition to Davis Station in Antarctica. At one stage it was so bright I could not change my camera settings quick enough, so I left the camera and enjoyed the free spectacular show unfold! The last 3 photos, part of a time-lapse video I had put together.... Where have you seen the Aurora Borealis or Aurora Australis? 18.01.2022 "The Portal" Welcome to a world far far away. The milky way galaxy, part of our home, but out of reach by most. The galactic core lighting up our night skies, providing an insight to what's really out there! Maybe we'll never fully understand, accept it for all that is, and for now admire it in all its glory. I was asked to join @k0och to photograph the milky way and knew of a spot, not too far away that we could go to out of the light pollution of the city. On arrival we we...re met with a farmer working the land with bright spotlights on the machinery. Our hearts sank, but it created some unique lighting. I wasn't really able to create an image of what I thought it would look like, I'll need to return later on in the season when the milky way is occupying another section of the sky. This is a composite of two images. One taken from inside the location. I love the old wooden frame. Really adds to the character and mystery about this cool place. The second image taken of the milky way. I probally could have taken the photo as one image slightly earlier in the night, but the galactic core had moved quite a bit over the time we were there. Canon 7DMKII Canon 10-22mm Frame: 10mm ~ ISO800 ~ F5.6 ~ 6s Milkyway: 10mm ~ ISO6400 ~ F3.5 ~ 8s

18.01.2022 Today I should have been taking off on another adventure on what would have been my 5th season storm chasing in tornado alley, USA. However due to the corona virus pandemic I had to cancel these plans. So instead I have chosen to share a few photos from my previous trips.... gees I've had some fun times! This year I'll need to sit it out and do some lounge room or armchair chasing! @ Tornado Alley

16.01.2022 Hoar frost - Dew-drops which have undergone deposition and frozen into ice crystals to form a white deposit on an exposed surface, when the air is cold and moist. (Photos 3 & 4). I've never seen hoar frost develop out of the soil and form little towers approximately 3.5 - 4cm long! It had not attached to anything other than the soil it had risen from.

16.01.2022 The Pollen Collector I'm loving my new 100mm macro lens. Thought I'd get a few snaps of the bees collecting the pollen from the lavender plants. Amazing the level of detail and I'm sure I'll learn more about macro photography along the way.... Canon 5DMKIII Canon 100mm macro Iso 800 ~ f5.6 ~ 1/3200s #pollen #bee #lavender #macrophotography

15.01.2022 "Unkonwn" I the high country, Mt Buller in particular. This visit a few weeks ago was still spectacular as usual. Although works along the summit road lead me on a new path towards the summit. The Summit Nature Walk was so cool, I got to see a different side of the mountain with all the wildlife in full action! I came across this scene along the way, beautiful wildflowers among the long grass with an iconic chairlift seemingly taking its customers to an unknown destination.... Overlooking to the valley below where you'd normally be able to see the township of Mansfield. Definitely getting the summertime vibes from this photo! Can't wait to return #stayhome #covid19

15.01.2022 The Dance The resident Wedge-tailed eagle at Melbourne airport is attacked by the Torresian crow. With a wingspan of up to 2.8m it dwarfs the crow.... The monochrome image brings out the detail of the wings and claws and provides no distractions. I definitely wouldn't be picking on someone at the top of the food chain! 13.01.2022 Yesterday was waterfall Wednesday and being the last day before the 6 week lockdown it was a must to explore for one last time. The crisp clean fresh air, sounds of the birds in full song and the calming sounds of the waterfall. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city. And now time to reminisce. #stayhome #staysafe... 10.01.2022 The Opera House and Sydney Tower, just a couple of iconic buildings of the city recognised around the world. Taken on board a ferry from Circular Quay which provided amazing views across the harbour. I love this rustic edit of the original photo, still providing magnificent details of the people along the Opera House and city buildings.
