25.01.2022 Drawer for records done. I'll add a pull of some sort towards the end of the build. Originally would have liked a push to open slide mechanism but heavy duty drawer slides in push to open are limited in sizes from what I'm told. 18.01.2022 Been playing around with a few ideas lately and this was one. Took a few attempts at bent lamination to get to this point but for a proof of concept I'm happy enough to share. This wine bottle holder made from multiple stripes of American Oak veneer hold 2 bottles. Makes a perfect centre piece for the table. Will hopefully be able to get a batch of these out in the new year for sale once I've worked out the kinks.

16.01.2022 In the process of figuring out how to make this work. The key feature of the cabinet is to have a record player rise up and sit flush with the top of the cabinet. I'll install a gas strut on each side of the platform to make this happen. The drawer slides guide the platform smoothly up. Using a car jack made things a little easier to install and test the alignment. 15.01.2022 That's a wrap. I've had to many coffees already so a beer will do the trick. Sign came up alright, hangs nicely and the entire thing is very easy to set up. The client will have an electrician hook up some lighting through the holes in the letters. 15.01.2022 Nothing like cutting a hole out of an already assembled cabinet. No going back. Drilled a hole in each corner for the jigsaw. Cut out the hatch. Using a flush trim bit on the router the edges were cleaned up. The hatch was then cut to size, edged with walnut and now is ready for the hinges. 06.01.2022 Been a while since my last post. Had to fix up a few things around the shop but I've started on a new project for a client now. I'm very keen to see how this cabinet turns out. Definitely going to be a few challenges on this one but once it's done it should be pretty sweet. The base is 90% finished also. I'll dress up all the edges with some Aus oak for protection and it will need to bath in some marine grade poly to withstand the elements. 02.01.2022 I've always loved the look of Dovetails but always seen them as way too difficult to attempt. I've had a crack at in the past but never really committed to learning the skill. I've put it off for a while but it was about time I tried. Very happy with the results. This was attempt #2 for the day. #1 split as I knoked the pin and tails together.
