11.01.2022 ~ From the tropics to the desert ~ Running my business as a nomad and being constantly on the move comes with many benefits but also a few downsides. Once you get to know the community and people in the region, you are often already on the move again. This time our journey took us from the tropics to the desert - Katherine to Alice Springs. Only 12 hours down the road, but a very tough one for me as I was able to create some very special memories and unique friendships in K-Town. Today marks the first day of work in the Centre of Australia and although I am very excited for this new chapter, I had to shed a few tears on the way (maybe also because temperatures dropped to zero ). 07.01.2022 Although b.art design operates Australia wide, working with Alice locals has been extra special for the past 4 months (it also feels good to swap the laptop for the camera for the day and meet inspiring business owners and entrepreneurs). I have had the best time capturing products, services and natural beauty, promoting events, designing prints, annual reports and corporate documents for tourism and community care providers. 07.01.2022 Keeping it real Many of my clients had to put a pause to their advertising campaigns and design concepts during this tough patch. It's been difficult not knowing when or how to progress with unpredictable restrictions in place but now we are finally beginning to see some light at the end of this tunnel. Just wanted to give everyone who has been hustling during this difficult time a big pat on the back (virtually of course!). ... Graphic designers and creative minds like me tackled contract adjustments, timeline pressures and postponed events. Like many of us, we had to adapt very quickly to a new normal. We focused on the creation of digital marketing campaigns (+ take-away menus ), weekly Zoom meetings + workshops and the development of digital solutions for the businesses we work with. This new normal has allowed us to connect with people and clients from different states and countries on a new and exciting level. 03.01.2022 Hello! My name is Katrin Bartens and I am 33 years old. If you don’t know me yet: 1. My friends call me Katzi (which means small cat in German, not sure where this came from as I'm the biggest dog lover on earth and slightly allergic to cats) 2. The name b.art originates from my last name Bartens... 3. I love to create things = draw, capture, build, design, paint, even mix - (cocktails that is , I spent a fun summer working with the team over at @localenoosa a few years ago - Negroni’s are my forte). 4. I have been operating as a Freelance Graphic Designer via @b.art_australia since 2015 and have a Bachelor degree in Media Engineering and Operations. 5. Due to locum work commitments my soulmate @mrclaydo and I have been travelling around Australia over the past few years. Noosa QLD, Armidale/Sawtell/Tweed Heads NSW, Albany WA and Katherine NT have been places we were lucky enough to call home. (+ a sneaky stop-over in Bangladesh with the @hopeforwcb). 6. From cleaning to cooking, hospitality to healthcare, I love being able to work with new local businesses and have had the pleasure of establishing fantastic long-term relationships with some of my clients.
