21.01.2022 A small service was carried out this morning in the grounds of the hangar for Remembrance Day. John Gilbert then laid the wreath in Werribee. Lest We Forget.

21.01.2022 We visited the hangar today to do routine maintenance and I'm so glad we did as the premier has just announced that we in metropolitan Melbourne must return to Stage 3 restrictions and the museum will be closed to visitors and volunteers. At this point in time, that will be another 6 weeks. Some of the faithful were there today getting on with the business of restoration. All are cheerful and determined. Thanks everyone for your continued support. Further support can be shown to the restoration by becoming a member; yearly subscriptions are a huge financial benefit. If you are already a member, subscription renewals are now due. You can renew or become a member through the website. Follow this link https://www.b24australia.org.au/ways/becoming-a-fund-member Take care out there and stay safe

17.01.2022 Victoria has been doing quite well in getting on top of this pandemic. Rules have been relaxed somewhat, but for the remainder of this year we will allow only limited numbers of volunteers inside to clean up and prepare for visitors next year. There are a number of protocols that must be adhered to, and we will do our best to make our museum open and safe in the new year. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

17.01.2022 Last photo lot from 2014 visit to the museum by Phil Buckley Photography. We are looking for more active volunteers to help with restoring the B-24 along with gaining more paid membership to help us keep going. So if you are keen to help our museum and the B-24 by volunteering or becoming a paid member, please send us a private message and we will reply to you.... We are very passionate and keen to have more people to help us preserve the last remaining WW2 era B-24 Liberator in Australia.

03.01.2022 VALE MR PHILLIP TAYLOR To all B-24 Liberator volunteers, followers and visitors, it is with great sadness that we notify you of the passing of Phillip Taylor on October 20th Phil was a long time volunteer. We shall really miss him, and our thoughts go out to Wendy and the family. Because of COVID-19 restrictions we cannot at present get together to farewell Phil and celebrate his life, but we hope there will be an opportunity for this before too long.

03.01.2022 B-24 Liberator ground crew, this is what it takes to keep these planes flying. The details of the location are lost, be we assume RAAF Tocumwal 1945. Do you know these people?

02.01.2022 Walking beneath the tail of a Liberator aircraft parked on an airfield are four RAAF members from Queensland. Left to right: 429416 Flying Officer Len Millard, pilot of West End, Townsville; 425984 Warrant Officer (WO) W. C. C. (Bill) Stubbs, wireless operator of North Rockhampton; 426454 WO Ian Edmiston, navigator of Mackay; 425419 WO Jack Bates, pilot of Kalinga. AWM

01.01.2022 What is interesting about this WW2 photo that could confuse people in thinking it is a RAAF B-24? The roundel looks very similar to the untrained eye but this is what is the key. It is a Royal Air Force B-24 Liberator all the way out at the Cocos Islands in July 1945. It is Consolidated Liberator B MK Vl assigned to 356 SQN waiting to attack the Japanese in the last few weeks of WW2.

01.01.2022 The following were part of a selection of photos found in an envelope which Tocumwal local John Williams has. He can't recall when he got them or from who but there's some great pics in there. A72-373 at Leyburn according to what's written on the back. Date and photographer unknown.
