21.01.2022 It’s back folks! Our extreme delivery service to Monbulk on Friday nights & Emerald on Sunday nights. Remember orders need to be in by 5pm and we’ll drop them off at 6pm in town. Thanks for bearing with us, we know you wanted us to continue this service but with all the hospo staff shortages - it’s been tricky to manage. But we now think we can make this work. Not really a nice one and hills folk would probably say it’s the full moon! ... we’re a bit too pragmatic for that but what we have noticed is how many people are struggling out there right now and popping into Babajis for a feed. We are so grateful to everyone who ‘pays it forward’ with us. Can you believe with your help - we’ve raised over $3.5k since the start of Covid!... We’ve been cooking up regular batches of butter chicken for Community Casseroles that are shared with our friends across the community having a rough time. You can see her work here Sam Clark Photography WILDSpiritz Safaris. We hope she doesn’t mind us saying, that Sam is a simple soul, she doesn’t want for much, lives humbly and has a heart of gold. Which is why we need your help to help her. ... Sam printed a heap of these gorilla face masks, taken from a photo of hers. We think they are genius. And this week we are going to help her sell them as it’s quite a struggle without a shop front. They are $16 each, you can find them on our ordering system underneath ‘drinks’. As far as masks go, they are made to a COVID safe standard, comfy, soft, and the strap is adjustable. And in true Sam style, 10% of funds go straight back to Gorilla conservation and of course, Babajis will NOT keep any of the funds. Let’s be honest, we weren’t sold on the concept of Marley Spoon - where the ingredients are sent to you and you cook the meals at home but how they do things here to look after the environment is INSPIRING!... Marley Spoon has very little food waste as they only prepare the food that is already ordered by you. Literally - down to the last carrot! Unlike supermarkets who throw away 30% of their produce. Where possible they source their meat locally and are moving more and more towards environmentally friendly home biodegradable packaging. For such a big company, they are truly inspiring. It’s NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week this week, an opportunity to celebrate & learn about our First Nation cultures, and we’ve been following Nornie’s journey for some time. We’ve been hanging to visit her Yarraville Torres Strait cuisine cafe but in the meantime we’re now stocking Mabu Mabu’s chutneys / sauces & native spices... We’ll be cooking with these spices soon and we challenge you to give it a go. They make great stocking fillers or pantry spice basics. We’d love to see your creations!
