22.01.2022 Good luck to this athletic Babe competing in her first Triathlon tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day all those painful leg sessions will pay off, I promise Go get 'me Shannen! The Babes will all be cheering from home!

16.01.2022 Congratulations to this Beautiful Babe for making it to her wedding weekend! This year has been a big one, but she has still managed to train extremely hard whilst planning a wedding, moving house, completing multiple assignments and juggling a career which throws ridiculous hours and obstacles at her. From all the Babes, good luck and all the best tomorrow Ash! You deserve a truly magical day! Xx

16.01.2022 Babes with Barbells has been a little quiet of late, but we're now back and will be posting a lot more Babes profiles, training tips, and plenty more. So keep an eye out. Here's a little training video from Coach Kirsty giving a sneak peek into her current training. 30 reps of each for 4 rounds. Enjoy!

15.01.2022 Coach Kirsty competed in her first Strong Man comp over the weekend, and managed to pick up 2nd place with a 50kg log press & 160kg axle deadlift. This is only the beginning of this adventure! An everyday girl showing that anything is possible when you work hard enough.

13.01.2022 Even before Coach Kirsty was a rower she had been known to be referred to as 'Trap Monster' from time to time. As in, she used her upper traps to do everything. Bench, Shoulder press, Glute raises, Squats... Everything. Although she already has a strong upper body and back, it's important to ensure all muscles are doing their job and the middle back isn't being left behind as this will lead to problems. One big cue we use is to 'set the scaps' before each movement (movin...g the shoulder blades into a neutral position). Here Coach Kirsty initiates every movement by retracting and depressing her scaps to a neutral position, in order to lower the upper trap dominance. This is going to improve her rowing as she will find she's able to finish her stroke by drawing her shoulders back rather than trying to muscle the oar with her massive traps. Have a go of the upperbody endurance circuit: 4 rounds: 15x Push Press 8x Pull-ups 12x Lat Pull-Down 15x Cable face pulls And remember to start each movement from your Shoulder Blades.
