Thanks Daniella and Tommy - mama kin spender Still hard to believe we had these guys in our living room. https://www.mamakinspender.love/home-1 And of course not to be outdone , our very own Poppy Bill had the house raging to his rock and roll covers well into the night . 13.01.2022 Here you can see the new roof going on the old accommodation . This shot was taken a few months ago , so we expect a lot more progress now . More updates to come as we receive information from the orphanage . Its winter now in Bhutan which makes the roads tough to travel making visits from the capital to the orphanage hard . We do get updates from time to time , so we will keep you all posted . Thanks again from the "Babies of Bhutan"
10.01.2022 As work has now begun on the main accommodation a temporary shelter is being built to house the children during construction . Its winter now in Bhutan , temperatures drop to below zero through the night at the orphanage . We are hoping that with you help we can have the main accommodation finished by the end of next summer .

09.01.2022 Temporary accommodation construction as begun . The kids and elderly will be housed here until the work on the main accommodation is completed .
07.01.2022 Thanks to Shona , Glenn and Mia for your donation .
07.01.2022 Quick shout out to our "Ladies of Bhutan" who we know work tirelessly to ensure everyone has enough to eat . It couldnt be easy with this many mouths to feed out there at the Orphanage. But they seem to do it without breaking a sweat .
06.01.2022 We have just received some more updates from the Orphanage . Happy to say that the kids seem to have settled into their temporary Accommodation . Also looks like there are few new faces ,which is nice to see . Another Baby given a chance in life .
03.01.2022 Many hands make light work . When we first arrived at the Orphanage the elderly ladies were cooking on a small fire on the floor of a makeshift outdoor kitchen . We decided that night that we would design and build a wood fired oven using traditional Bhutanese methods . We drew up a design and made a "solid Plan" a term that would be used a lot during this trip . With the kids bringing the stones , a local farmer mixing the mud , and a hand drawn plan to make not just any wood fired oven , but a DOUBLE burner , we made short work of the task . In just one afternoon we had not only built the stove , but we were cooking on it . Jest a small example of the difference you can make if you are prepared to dig in and get amongst it .
01.01.2022 We are absolutely devastated to hear the news that late last night we lost one of our "babies of Bhutan" Tara , AKA "Dora The Explora" Passed away from health issues in the border town of Geliphu. Words cannot explain the grief we feel losing such a young amazing soul with so much potential . Dora was orphaned due to the unfortunate break up of her mother and father , and was going to school in the capital Thimphu . Dora was a beautiful soul , and touched the hearts of every...one . Our hearts go out to her mother and father , and of course her foster parents Tashi and Khandro . We are absolutely heart broken . RIP Dora , you beautiful girl xxxx Love and light , Kane and Jes See more
