22.01.2022 What does the Covid-19 pandemic mean for us, and for our clients? We are still working. Due to the precautions we have in place, we are limiting our face to face contact as much as possible. This means that we are operating remotely - we will either be in the office (we have plenty of space), or at our respective homes. This is not new to us - we often work from places other than the office. Most of our work can be done without face to face meetings - we can arrange for do...cuments to be signed electronically, and can verify your identity electronically too - if you feel unsure, please feel free to ask. Sometimes we will need to see you - for signing your estate planning documents, or affidavits, for example. In these cases we will be using our large meeting room, which has enough space to be physically distant. We will ask you to wash your hands when you enter - our offices used to be doctors surgery, so we have sinks in each of our meeting room. We will also give you a fresh pen to sign with, which you may keep. The room will be wiped down with antibacterial cleanser after each client, and we will be limiting these appointments to two per day. Unfortunately, dealing with this pandemic has slowed us down - our contacts and colleagues are all taking similar precautions, and together with reading the numerous email updates, we are finding that we are not managing to produce the volume of work that we are used to. We apologise for any delays, and request that if you are concerned, please send us an email so that we may prioritise our workloads. Above all, stay safe, and please maintain your isolation so that we may all get through this trying time as quickly and easily as possible.

21.01.2022 Do you have elderly relatives? If you have older people in your life, please note that they may be most affected by this virus. Not just because of their risks if they catch it, but often they are less mobile, and less tech savvy. Therefore they dont have the ability to contact the outside world as easily as younger people. Now is the time to contact them - to see how they are going - to check if they need anything. Ideally contact them by phone, or arrange for a physical...ly distant visit by a low risk family member, or health care professional. Although we all have legal obligations to isolate ourselves, we also have obligations towards those we care for. To ensure they have appropriate food, medical care and contact. As we progress further into tighter stages of mandatory isolation, you may want to have a conversation with your elderly relatives to find out what they want to do for this period of time. Some ideas are: - If you have spare space in your home, they may need to move in temporarily. Only do this if there is no risk that you have been exposed to Covid-19. - Set up a schedule of FaceTime, or telephone calls - perhaps at the same time each day, or a couple of times a day. - Make contact with the local care providers to see what they have in place. - Make sure they have appropriate food and drink - that they can manage to prepare by themselves. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us.
