20.01.2022 Unfortunately, I feel that, for everyone's health and safety, I am cancelling my Dressing Circle event that is scheduled for next Tuesday, 24 March. It will return later in the year.

18.01.2022 You are invited to the March 24 meeting of the 'Dressing Circle'. the Topic for discussion is 'The Art of Travel Packing'. Come along and in a safe environment share, laugh and connect. Expand your packing knowledge and share your packing secrets. Read more and book in here at Eventbrite - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/march-dressing-circle-the-a

16.01.2022 While speaking at an event last Thursday, a few participants shared their confusion and hurt about another person commenting adversely on their clothing when they felt well-dressed. An attack on your dressing is an attack on your core self. Unless you are breaking some clear and specific, written Dress Code, what other people feel and say is all about them not you. They may be reacting to your whole appearance or some small part of it. All of us have grown up learning attitu...des from our family and other people and situations. These colour our impression of others. You cannot control what other people think. Plus, the social shift from last century’s strict business and work dressing to today’s very casual style means that the happy medium of ‘business casual dressing’ is a minefield of conflicting opinions. There is also the little understood effect of your colouring on the way you dress. One person’s base dressing can be another person’s ‘dressing up’ level or a second person’s ‘dull’ level. It is about understanding contrast levels and where you feel comfortable. Add to that the difference between Introverts and Extroverts and you have dressing judgments that may confuse and hurt. What to do Ignore it and be yourself or gently ask ‘What led you to that impression of me?’ You never know in what positive direction that question may lead. #DressingPerceptions #DressingPsychology
