23.01.2022 Hot pastrami is back this week. Coming with Malawach + condiments. Brined for 7 days, dusted in our pastrami rub, smoked for around 5 hours and then steamed for another 5 or so. A la carte menu only. Heaps of new stuff on the set menu too.. Loads of new booze on the list and some more good stuff on the way. Bottle shop Friday 12pm - 5:30pm ... Thanks everyone for their support! Thinking of the Melbourne hospo community at the moment and wishing everyone the best down south.. 23.01.2022 Tomorrow will be the last BAKE SALE for a little while! We’d like to thank everyone for their support on Sunday’s over the last couple of months. Was awesome to see the same crews lining up each Sunday and having their socially distanced catch ups in the line while waiting for their treats. What started as a bit of fun quickly escalated to a line down around the corner. We’re going out strong with hot pastrami bagels and bug schnitty burgers on the menu. 21.01.2022 This weeks take away menu! The starter will change from potato scallops to wholemeal Duck dumplings and red vinegar for Friday Saturday night. We are working on a date for reopening after we’ve done a couple of jobs in the restaurant and finalised our new dishes. We’ll also will be opening with a slightly new format. The brand new ‘oak bank’ Shiraz from the Belton family @gentlefolkwine, Basket Range, Adelaide hills. You can’t go wrong with anything from these legends x ... And stoked to have some of Rob and Kate from @unkelwines new ‘Lost your way’ Chardonnay. After moving home to NZ to farm their own fruit we’re seeing some awesome results. 12.01.2022 This weeks fish - Blue Maori cod from @chrisboltonfishing That’s been hung and aged for 10 days then Pan fried. Served with a salad of Brassicas and beans and a sauce made from the roasted bones and our cultured butter. You also get a side of our rye sour dough focaccia and more butter to finish that sauce off with. Chris Bolton’s fish, in our experience is some of the best fish in Australia. Fruit from their pristine Adelaide hills vineyard makes for some interesting and amazing mineral driven wines that are snapped up in a heartbeat every time they are released. Lucky we have a few each of these left at the moment for you to try! We even have a sneaky couple of bottles of their APQ cider left in the fridge we’ve been saving. 06.01.2022 New wines in from Taras @ochotabarrels. You’ll always find a couple of his wines on our list, and for good reason. He’s a lovely, hugely respected fella and makes amazing wine. First off we’ve got the brand spanking botanicals of the basket. A whole bunch blend of various grapes destined to be shaped into his other wines. Along with 17 various botanicals collected from around their wine studio. The result - well, you’ll have to come and find out! Secondly we’ve got th...e green room Grenache. Whole bunch pressed Organic fruit from North McLaren Vale. Tart red fruit, clean natural acid and a little bit spicy. Gets better every year.
