23.01.2022 Happy Sunday Guys! I just wanted to share my latest testimonial with you all. Read mums words below I contacted Amy when our son was 5.5 months old. Like many others’ experiences, our son was a great sleeper until the four-month sleep ‘progression’ hit. He would wake two-hourly overnight, catnap for 45 minutes at a time during the day, snack breastfeed all day and would often rely on feeding to sleep. I was stressed and tired as each day was unpredictable despite my best... efforts to try various strategies I had read and heard. From the moment I contacted Amy she was very approachable and reassuring and she took us under her wing. She met us in our home and from that evening she guided us step-by-step to make changes using a tailored approach to suit our parenting style. She was in regular contact providing helpful suggestions and encouragement. There were many tough moments establishing new settling methods but we trusted Amy’s expertise and the process and, sure enough, everything started to shift. After a month, our little one now has a predictable daily sleep and feeding routine, including a long lunch nap most days. He self-settles calmly to sleep and now sleeps 6-7 hours at a time overnight with only one overnight feed. We feel so much calmer and in control and know that our son is getting the restoration he needs. We have the confidence to adapt the strategies as his sleep changes and know that we can call on Amy in the future if needed. Thanks a million Amy! See more

22.01.2022 Sleep regressions and wonder weeks can all too easily be blamed for sleep issues. A true sleep regression lasts 1-2 weeks and with minimal intervention - i.e. consistency in your approach to routine and settling techniques, sleep will return just as easily as it went off track. Here are the ones to watch out for: 4-6 months, this one can be a biggy, if your baby still cat naps at this age, and they have not yet learnt to self settle a lot of babies at this age begin to wake ...every 2-4 hours over night. This is due to a change in sleep cycle length and the fact that babies at this age fully wake between sleep cycles. The good news is this reduces your babies risk of dying from SIDS, and if they are waking every 2 hours we can help you to get some more sleep! 9 months this one is usually associated with some separation anxiety and the ability to crawl and roll! Who wants to sleep when there is crawling and rolling to be done! This can send some parents into a spiral of rocking and feeding to sleep just to stop the constant crawling! 12 months if you thought separation anxiety was bad at 9 months, at 12 months some babies show real protest at being left alone! Their cry is louder and more upsetting, and they are determined. They don’t want to stop reading books with you and sleep, or stop playing with their blocks and sleep, play is more fun, and these little people know what they want. Spend more time on a wind down routine to allow your baby to be calm and content before sleep. Don’t be fooled into dropping naps as a response to this stage, they are learning to walk and run and will be exhausted! 18 months now these babies are becoming toddlers and you have probably made the difficult transition to 1 nap. If you do this too soon how ever it can result in early morning wake ups and nap refusals. We can help you get this balance right. If you would like to book in for some one-on-one help, please contact Amy on 0424 191 149 or [email protected]

22.01.2022 I had the perfect baby for four months and then with no warning she started to cat nap during the day and wake every two hours through the night for a feed, suddenly I was not feeling so great and neither was my baby as she had become grumpy with being so overtired and I then had to carry or entertain her to get her from nap to nap....exhausting! I reached out to Baby Sleep Consultant and Amy came to my rescue. Amy was so knowledgeable, she had my baby worked out fairly quic...kly and I then implemented her suggestions. I could see instant positive results but I have a strong willed baby so it did take three weeks to really see the full impact of implementing all of the suggestions. I have now been able to get her to go down for her daytime naps without screaming, I've stretched her day feeds to three hourly and her nighttime feeds are four hourly, she is starting to self settle and I am getting 4 hour blocks of sleep. Yeh! As an unintended consequence, she has also calmed down when we travel in the car and she hated the car. All in all, this has been such a positive experience. I felt completed supported by Amy. I was never judged and Amy always checked in to see if her suggestions aligned with my parenting style. I know if I ever experience sleep regression again (and I have been advised I probably will) then I know who to call. Thank you Amy, Ava and I really appreciate your support and genuine care. 17.01.2022 Such flattering words from a wonderful family I recently worked with. Reading posts like this from my clients is why I do what I do!

16.01.2022 Did you know that awake windows when you are looking at a routine like my online sleep program provides, are actually a maximum. So if your baby is showing tired signs 15 minutes prior to a scheduled nap, don't be afraid to pop them to bed. Awake windows are a maximum, not a goal, especially the 4 hours from end of nap 2 to bed time, this is often not achieved until a lot older than you would imagine.

15.01.2022 Morning guys and happy Friday! I am heading to my first consult for 2021. A little two year old girl who will only settle for mum, if dad tries she gets so worked up she can vomit.... wish me luck!!

06.01.2022 Sending love and strength to all who need it throughout this holiday period.

05.01.2022 Here are some advantages in relation puree, baby led weaning and mixing the two together. What method did you use? Advantages of doing purees/spoon led feeding... It may be easier to introduce iron-rich foods (such as meat, green leafy vegetables) at 6 months, which can be difficult for 6 month babies to chew... If, and only if, your baby is ready to start weaning before 6 months, you could introduce some purees (your baby shouldn’t start BLW until 6 months) It's easier for parents who worry about gagging and choking It's a little less messy than BLW, so more suited to feeding on the go Advantages of doing baby led weaning... You don’t need to make mountains of purees you give your baby suitable bits of family meals You need to wait until your baby is 6 months before starting BLW It encourages shared and social eating - your baby joins in family meals from the beginning It can avoid difficult transition from purees to lumps babies get used to chewing from the start Some research suggests BLW may reduce fussy eating and later obesity Advantages of doing the Mix Method... It can be easier to give your baby iron-rich foods from 6 months It encourages your baby to use a spoon to self-feed, developing onto cutlery use Your baby can discover new tastes and textures by playing with finger food while you’re spoon feeding
