23.01.2022 Need to wash your baby carrier? This was originally written in reference to our library carriers, but it can be used relatively universally across *most* kinds of baby carrier (excluding wool and special care fibres). https://www.babywearerswa.com.au//how-do-i-care-for-bwwa-c

20.01.2022 MEMBERS! We've got an email update heading your way. Please check your junk folder just in case your email system is confused; we would hate for you to be missing out on our updates. Don't worry, we don't send many emails, and the ones we do send you are pretty important for continuation of your membership.

06.01.2022 To the wonderful babywearing community of Western Australia, As many of you will be aware, the Baby Wearers Western Australia Inc. (BWWA) constitutional Annual General Meeting was held last Saturday 30th October 2020. The Chairperson’s report highlighted all the progress made over 2019/2020, including the wild ride through Covid closures, record meet attendance and expansion of optimal carrier range in the lending libraries. The main item of business discussed was the future ...of the organisation. What came through was committee members sharing how burned out they were, trying to run this ever growing organisation, alongside parenthood, work, study and life! Our legal responsibilities/liabilities have become increasingly complex and it is not sustainable to have our Community and Meet Leaders also administrating the organisation. With all of the responsibilities placed on such a small group of people, we are now facing retirement of the entire committee. As such, we do not have volunteers to form an executive. We have instead elected a committee purely for the tasks required to close the organisation. This means BWWA will cease to function in December 2020. Currently, we have ceased accepting memberships. Final meets will be held, with all carriers returned in late November or early December as per our usual annual stocktake. A Special General Meeting will be held in January to finalise dissolution, or, with adequate volunteers, a new managing committee. The outgoing committee would dearly love to see BWWA continue on and such are putting out a final call to you, our Babywearing community and beyond, in the hope that a group of people may feel inspired to come onboard. Without misleading you, the volunteer task is big but you certainly wouldn't be alone. The organisation is more streamlined and automated than it has ever been. We have a great team of Community and Meet leaders with many years of babywearing experience ready to share. It is the administration that the organisation desperately needs. If you would like more information please have a look at the Volunteer Roles on our website (below) and email questions to [email protected] https://www.babywearerswa.com.au/volunteer-roles A final decision is required by 1 December 2020, with the Special General Meeting date to be announced thereafter.
