We took ours to Australia Zoo and it definitely came in handy with little tired legs so she could see all the animals! As an onbuhimo is a waistless baby carrier, there was no pressure on my ever extending belly so it was super comfortable! 16.01.2022 Babywearing can be such a learning curve and one of the most surprising parts can be where your waist strap goes especially with a newborn or little baby! It is really common to initially put on your waist strap on your hips but this means that your baby is too low which can be a safety risk. Following the TICKS guidelines for babywearing safety we want our baby to be Close enough to kiss. A great tip is to try and replicate how we carry them in arms and position the wai...st strap where their bum goes. You can see in the picture that Ive put the strap on under my bust/on ribs to get the same positioning. This allows for more comfortable positioning for you and your baby safe position for your baby as you can monitor them easily better communication together Not sure where what your baby carrier position should be? 11.01.2022 Babywearing while pregnant Do you? Have you? Can you? . For ME, right now babywearing while pregnant (20 weeks) is a necessity with Miss 3 as her spider sense is tingling and she knows something is happening so needs extra cuddles Its much easier than carrying in arms and I still feel comfortable with no pregnancy or health issues which might mean our babywearing days are finished. .... And as you can see I have been trying different options to find the most comfortable way nothing on bump above bump under bump And the winner so far is under bump . But with my last pregnancy, my first was too big (18kg) and belly bub was so low with a lot of pressure on my pelvic floor so it was uncomfortable for me to wear during pregnancy and we stopped very quickly. . So can YOU wear while pregnant? This is a common question and the answer is it really depends on your personal circumstances. Some areas to consider are: Pregnancy or Medical Issues As much as babywearing can be a major parenting tool, if you have any health or pregnancy related issues or risk factors its probably time to hang up those carriers until belly bub arrives! If you are ever in doubt, chat to your medical team for their recommendations. Previous babywearing experience Becoming pregnant isnt the time to START babywearing as your body is already going through so many changes. If you have been wearing regularly before becoming pregnant, you can easily continue! Listening to your body You are working hard to create life so listen to your body and dont wear or immediately stop wearing if you have any pain, discomfort, dizziness or fatigue! You may only be able to wear in the first trimester or for short periods but its better to be safe than sorry (aka injured!). Understanding your pregnancy limitations Your pelvic floor and core is already being overworked, the hormone relaxin is floating around making your joints more elastic which can increase your risk of injury, and general endurance is changing while being pregnant! So take this into consideration each and every time you wear. For some, babywearing while pregnant is a different step in your babywearing journey
