24.01.2022 SENIOR WOMEN’S MATCH REPORT By Natalie Grero BMCC Women's played their final game of the year against Darley at Darley Park.... It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and excitement in the air. We welcomed Elouise and Sally for their first matches of the season. On a green pitch, the Bulls bowled first with lots of swing and an early opening wicket bowled by Lauri caught by Nat. We fought on to keep Darley under 100 runs. Our best bowling was Nat with 1/4 off 3 overs. Our opener Susan batted well retiring after 20 balls then returning to make a top score of 14 not out. Our awards this week went to Sally for an amazing bowling effort of 1/6 off 3.3. Our other award went to Jane for some great batting making her top score of 6. Thanks to all the ladies for their involvement for the 1st half of our inaugural season. We have had a heap of laughs and lots of skill development along the way. Thanks to our sponsors for their ongoing support. Looking forward to coming back after Christmas with 4 more games to be played! #gobulls

09.01.2022 A BIG WIN FOR McINTYRE TO START THE SEASON! A big first innings total of 210 proved too much for East Sunbury to chase down, with Jared Taylor snaring four wickets and narrowly missing a hat trick in the final overs! The 2nds also had a win in a close game at Riddell, with a strong performance from Will Lalor in the death overs sealing the win. ... Our thoughts are with James Bailey who suffered a nasty head injury in a freak accident in the 2nds yesterday. 07.01.2022 SENIOR WOMEN’S CRICKET ROUND 1 RESULTS Game 1 in the inaugural GDCA Women's competition saw BMCC play Lancefield at home.... The ladies were filled with anticipation for the day which looked to be called off by rain. President Scott Wakefield conducted a hat presentation to the girls welcoming them to the club and highlighting the importance of creating an inclusive and family friendly club environment. The day started off very well, a little bit wet but managed to secure 4 wickets in the first five overs including a screamer of a catch on the boundary by Lauri Plummer and a fantastic run out by wicketkeeper Kara Spokes. The team persisted with their batting taking on the bowlers and showed great effort in running between wickets. There was great encouragement by all batters throughout the innings. The scores did not resemble the fun and enjoyment on the field with BMCC going down by 87 runs. Players of the match were awarded to Kara Spokes for an amazing wicket keeping performance and Dee Micevski for fantastic bowling figures of 1/14 off 3 overs including 4 runs off 8 balls.
