15.01.2022 Ben Drysdale AKA Back Alley Scholar addresses universal themes blending New Blues and Soul with a mix of Indie/Pop/Alternative/Swagger Rock. Described by Nashville Producer Kris Bradley as ‘Like if Imagine Dragons and Aloe Blacc had a musical baby’, Back Alley Scholar takes inspiration from these artists and others such as KALEO, Rag n Bone Man, and Oh the Larceny. Drysdale has been co-writing with artists all over Australia and the US in the development of this project, wor...king predominantly with producer Jon Reichardt who, while growing up on Rock and Alternative, has carved his professional career producing some of Australia’s biggest Hip Hop acts including Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Esso, 360, and Illy. Under previous monikers Drysdale has toured the East coast of Australia, played shows in the US, Ireland and Canada, and attended a number of conferences in the US and Canada including. North By North East (Toronto), The Hawaii Songwriting Festival, and SyncKeepers (Los Angeles). At these events he received extremely positive feedback from Artists and Songwriters Greg Holden, Chance Peña and Jason Blume, and Music Supervisors such as Rashad Richardson, Gary Calamar, and Jess Gramuglia.
