15.01.2022 ART4AG Exhibition is now on display at the Back O Bourke Information & Exhibition Centre until Nov 6th. The exhibition is a photographic exhibition by amateur and professional photographers from around the region, including Burren Junction, Nevertire, Nyngan, Coonamble, Warren, Gilgandra, Cobar, Balladoran, Coolabah, Walgett and Mungindi. It is an opportunity for people living in regional agricultural communities to celebrate their lifestyle as part of National Agriculture... Day. We are open Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm

12.01.2022 Again this morning we opened the doors to our new little Back O Bourke Cafe and are really looking forward to hearing from you all about our new addition - it has been a big project for our builders and project team. The cafe is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm with a range of delicious freshly cooked food available and great coffee. Call and see us soon

04.01.2022 COLIN BUCHANAN IN BOURKE: Former Bourke resident and Golden Guitar winner, Colin Buchanan, is gearing up for tonight's concert commencing at 7.30pm. Best known for his songwriting and country music, Colin was previously also a regular presenter on ABC TV’s Play School. In addition, for some 20 years he hosted QANTAS' in-flight audio entertainment, predominantly "Big Country", pioneering the guest co-host format eventually adopted across all QANTAS inflight audio channels.... It's great to see Colin back in Bourke as he grabs his guitar and along with Outback Historian Paul Roe, you can sit around the campfire and hear the stories and sing along. Tickets have almost sold out, so best grab one now by calling the centre on 68721321. COVID restrictions will be in place for this event.

03.01.2022 PUBLIC NOTICE CLOSURE OF WAR MEMORIAL POOL AND TOURISM FACILITIES With the announcement of a nationwide shutdown of non-essential services to assist in the containment of the Covid-19 Virus, Bourke Shire Council has made the decision to close the Bourke War Memorial Pool, the Back O Bourke Exhibition Centre and Visitor Information Centre, the Crossley Engine and the Jandra Paddleboat.... ALL CLOSURES ARE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. Tour groups who were previously booked have been notified of the closures. It is unclear how long the closures will be in place. Council will make a public announcement when it is able to resume operations Council apologises for the inconvenience that will be caused by the closures, however, feels these measures are necessary to protect the community. 02.01.2022 Thank you to all those cruised on the Jandra for 2013. The season has now finished and the crew are about to take a Christmas break. See you all in 2014 as we resume prior to Easter.

01.01.2022 Why not visit Barringun and check this out. Barringun is on the Queensland Border an easy 130 Km north of Bourke.

01.01.2022 For those looking to enjoy the Exhibition Centre and Jandra through to the end of November we now have a $2 ticket for the Jandra if visitors purchase a ticket for the Exhibition Centre. This package deal is almost $10 less than the normal package price. If you are looking for accommodation try our packaging partners at the Darling River Motel, Kidman's Camp or the Back O' Bourke Motel. Am sure they can help out with pricing.
