22.01.2022 In September 2017 we took possession of our current shed. It's amazing to look back at when we were ripping out the old partitions and getting it ready for use. We have come a long way since then, thanks to all who helped us along the journey. Help has come from many quarters, from those who worked on setting it up and running it, Port Phillip Council for providing premises, those who volunteer their time to fix bikes, our customers who spend money with us, and spread the wo...rd. All this has enabled us to support the community by servicing bikes for special needs schools, donating bikes to the underprivileged and socially isolated, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for our volunteers. We turned a derelict old shed into a thriving bike hub, providing cheap bikes for the community, and donating to those in need.

17.01.2022 Hi, We are a bunch of students completing our Masters at the University of Melbourne with a passion for cycling. As a part of our courses we are completing a project involving the local Not For Profit bike shop: Back2Bikes and how they can innovate in order to expand its impact on the community. Together we have worked out some ideas for how Back2bikes could increase their community impact. However, in order to get a better understanding as to how we should go forward with th...ese ideas we would like some feedback from the community. As such we kindly ask if you would be able to fill out one of the small surveys below which you feel impacts you to help us with our project. Here are the relevant links to the survey, please fill out any that interest you (Est. completion 2-4mins) Cycling advocacy: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BGWL8Y8 What if we told you we want to create a recreational space that promotes the use of bikes in Melbourne. The idea consists of restricting the vehicular flow on roads which are normally exclusively to automobiles for cyclists and pedestrians on a weekly basis at a specific time for free. Pop-up workshop: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3R5N3LH What if we told you we are going to put some pop-up bike workshops beside the main road where you can easily access, and we also provide many bikes service for free. Cycling Club: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3YLWJP3 Back2Bikes is looking for a way to integrate its customers, employees and surrounding community and believes that a cycling club would be a great way to do this. However, we don't know what kind of activities to offer and how best to do these, so this survey aims to help us work out the details. Thanks you very much for you time

17.01.2022 Back2bikes will be closed Good Friday 10 Apr and Easter Monday 12 Apr.

10.01.2022 It’s George as he arrived fully loaded on his bike at B2B this morning

08.01.2022 Back2bikes dropped off 3 bikes today for clients of Reclink who were in dire need of bikes for transport and recreation. The 3 bikes were delivered just as 2 young volunteers pictured were finishing a mural depicting Reclink activities. Also in the picture centre left Reclink founder Peter Cullen and centre right Geoff Smart from B2B.

07.01.2022 At Back2bikes we consider that bikes are essential transport, and that therefore our service is essential. The Dutch government agree with us, as you can read here: https://www.forbes.com//coronavirus-leads-to-closures-of/ Our plan is to keep operating in whatever form we can, which might be behind closed doors to keep customers bikes going, and provide bikes for sale, all while keeping a safe distance.... The dog is our "greeter", who will pester you to throw the ball if you are hanging around the workshop.
