25.01.2022 As we are nearing the warmer months we have some changes coming up, our salon owner Temily is soon to be stepping away from performing treatments in preparation for her baby to arrive. If you were quick enough to book in advance you may have one or two more appointments with her before she steps into salon assistant/admin and overlooking the running of the salon from October to December instead of being on the tools! All future bookings are now closed with Temily until 2021. As most of you already know, we have a team of 4 other incredible therapists + our Nurse AND we will have our third treatment room set up by the end of September/early October! We are so excited to offer more space and more treatments to you all! Stay tuned for updates! X

20.01.2022 We cant believe we are reaching our first Birthday next week! Some of you have been with Temily through this journey for over 13 years. Temily's Story:... From a young teen I began working and studying to be a Beauty Therapist in Dunsborough before moving to Perth to complete my studies and expand my knowledge and skills through experience in the Industry. My job description varied widely over the years as I worked in Cosmetic Clinics, Beauty Salons and Day Spa's all around becoming a mother to my son Beau and then as a single mother for most of the last 7 years I made a choice to create Backbone Beauty. I earned for flexibility, freedom to be mother and creater. The "BACKBONE" of our future. My goal was to be as present as I could as a mother and my own success. I made it. Fast track to 2019 I outgrew my little home salon and again expanded my skills and life long goal to become a cosmetic tattooist and decided to take the leap and open the salon in the centre of busy little Dunsborough. The timing was perfect with Beau in fulltime school and me feeling ready for change! So far with the support of my clients, friends, family and hard work I have survived a pandemic and growth DID NOT subside. Who would have thought... Wow and what an incredible year it has been, not only did Backbone Beauty open but I have introduced 5 incredible women to the team, 4 therapists and Nurse Cathy. We are currently renovating to accommodate our busy space and high demand for professional beauty services and I am only a couple of months away from having my second child where I will step back from performing Beauty Treatments for the first time in almost 8 years. To be completely honest, it's an overwhelming feeling and a very emotional transition for me but I feel more proud and more ready to take a little step aside to focus on my family and to be able to continue to nurture this business and support its growth for another successful year and many more to come! 12.01.2022 Spring time has sprung! What does this mean for your eyelash extensions? Multiple times a year our bodies react to the changing seasons, unfortunately in spring this means that your lashes fall out faster than usual, along with more body hair shedding for the warmer months much like animals do resulting in faster lash loss with eyelash extensions and possibly a shorter time between your lash refill. Most of our clients come for a 3 week refill, if your finding your losing m...ore lashes than normal over the coming weeks make sure you let us know prior to your booking so we can allow extra time for your appointment but this also means there may be alot more smaller, fragile lashes growing so we may not be able to refill your lashes as much as we normally do to ensure the healthy growth of your natural lashes! As these small hairs become longer and stronger your lash refills will leave you with fuller lashes again in no time. 08.01.2022 This is Summer. Summer has been apart of the Backbone Beauty team since December 2019 after completing her Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Makeup Artistry AND her Eyelash Extension Course. She's a gentle and kind therapist and has gained a world of knowledge in her first 6 months of working in the beauty industry. She's a fast learner, a creative, yet her favourite part about this "job" is making people feel and look beautiful! When she's not in the salon or helping family friends around town, she loves to visit the beach, do art with friends and go on adventures around the south west.
