24.01.2022 Physio Summer Tip #2 The human body is designed to move, as Physios we use the sayings motion is lotion and rest is rust to emphasise this point to our clients. When it comes to posture there isn’t a set ‘good’ or ‘bad’ posture per se, it’s rather a lack of postures and being in tune with your posture to make your next one, your best one. Especially when you are sitting down for a long period of time. This week’s tip is about easy ways to get you moving during those lo...ng periods of time. Be Safe and Be Merry! #BackInMotionEltham #PhysioTip #Posture #MovementForLife

13.01.2022 #StretchingSaturday with Lach Pec Stretch Shoulders! We are following up our Physio Tip this week with the Pec Stretch. This stretch is amazing for individuals with rounded shoulders. A rounded shoulder posture can occur from a lot of slouching at the desk causing the pec minor muscles to become shortened and tight. This muscle attaches from the front of the shoulder blade to the ribs so when these muscles become tight they will pull the shoulder blades down and forward cau...sing the upper traps to be on stretch all the time which can lead to them becoming aggravated and sore (very similar to wearing a heavy backpack all the time). This muscle being tight can also restrict shoulder mobility and can also lead to and/or contribute to further shoulder problems/injuries. Swipe across for Lach’s how-to guide on how to perform this stretch

12.01.2022 #ICYMI here is Carly’s Yellow Fruit Salad Recipe Carly was first introduced to this recipe in France, and now she can't imagine Summer without it! 12.01.2022 #StretchingSaturday with Lach Child’s Pose Stretch Following on from our Physio tip during the week, the Child’s Pose stretch is a classic yoga stretch that is great for opening up the lumbar spine and lengthening the soft tissue and back extensor muscles in the lower back. This stretch is fantastic for individuals with achy/stiff low back pain especially for those who do a lot of standing for work, driving for long periods of time and also tummy sleepers. Swipe across for Lach’s how-to guide on how to perform this stretch

03.01.2022 Physio Summer Tip #3 Summer is here, and with Christmas family and festivities on the horizon, tennis, swimming and backyard cricket matches are on the menu. What do these sports have in common? The shoulder! When using your shoulder (and whole body), ease into it if you haven’t used it in a sporting sense in a while. ... If you have been given some exercises in the past, the old rotator cuff exercises are ok and get the job done, but function wins. Check out this week’s tip for shoulder exercises
