25.01.2022 Todays focus of Womens Health Week is all about bladder and bowel health! Did you know that if you are suffering from constipation and straining to go, then you are significantly increasing the downward pressure on your pelvic floor muscles. Chronic constipation can lead to pelvic floor muscle weakness and can contribute to issues such as prolapse and leakage.... There are ways we can manage this through advice, exercise and lifestyle tweaks. Does this sound like you and you would like some help? Book in to see Jess for a Pelvic Physio consultation

24.01.2022 Did you know that our director Evan loves playing golf? Evan loves treating clients in the clinic with golf specific injuries. He has recently developed a golf screening with his main goal being to help improve golf performance through physical testing and exercise If you play golf and would like to have a golf screening done with Evan to identify any areas for improvement, please give our reception a call on 6281 2499. #physio #golf #screening #injuries #exercise

24.01.2022 In light of Women's Health Week - click the link to our blog post below to find out more about what Women's Health physiotherapy is! Our physio Jess is trained in this area and can help you with all of your needs https://www.backinmotion.com.au//introducing-womens-health

24.01.2022 Reformer Single Leg Press ft. Evan’s oranges socks! What is the exercise good for? Glute, quadricep and hamstring strength (some of which can be biased through the position of the foot on the bar) When would we usually prescribe this? When appropriate, we may get people doing this exercise who are recovering from knee, foot, ankle, hip or lower back injuries. Have you got a favourite reformer exercise? Let us know below!

24.01.2022 Marty is an AFL player at Claremont Footy club who unfortunately dislocated his R) shoulder while tackling a player to the ground during a match in early August He has been progressing well through his rehab with physio Lou by building his strength back up for season 2021! He is now up to doing some stability work through his shoulder.

24.01.2022 Featuring some of your BIM RP essentials! sweat towel 90cm foam roller We have stock in the practice to help facilitate all your recovery and exercise rehab needs! #backinmotion #foamroller #towel #equipment #rehab

23.01.2022 Ever wondered what physio Lou gets up to outside of work? It might not surprise you but she is very much into her sport! Lou plays AFL, soccer and loves a bushwalk As a result, Lou is loving seeing sports injuries in the clinic and has a great knowledge around these sports. She also loves working with tennis players and post-operative patients (ACLs, arthroscopies, joint replacements) #physio #sport #injuries #postop #afl #soccer #tennis @ Back In Motion Rosny Park

23.01.2022 At BIM RP our Pilates classes have a bit of a twist... after our mat work, we hop up and do some different exercises in the rehab gym Heres Jess and Karen doing a balance exercise and Marion in the background doing some modified Russian twists. We always try to incorporate something to challenge everyones balance #pilates #balance #core #physio #tasmania

22.01.2022 Conventional deadlifts! Why are deadlifts a good exercise? Well, they work all the following muscles at once: Glutes Quads Adductors (inner thigh)... Hamstrings Erector spinae (lower back) As well as some of the upper back muscles and abs! Our physios incorporate these a fair bit with our programming when appropriate. Sometimes a tough movement to master, but very beneficial once we get it! #deadlift #strength #physio #rehab #backinmotion See more

22.01.2022 Pardon the pun but... Here at BIM RP we’ve got your back! If you need us we have physios here from Mon-Sat + extended opening hours. To book an appointment head to our website or give us a call on 6281 2499.

22.01.2022 HEADACHES + MIGRAINES This is Leyla. Earlier this year she had an increase in the level of headaches/migraines she had been experiencing and came to physio to see if we could help! Great choice, if we dont say so ourselves Through joint mobilisations, soft tissue work, dry needling and clinical exercise, we have so far reduced the frequency and severity of Leylas episodes. Initially she was coming in for treatment approx. every week but is now only needing to pop ...in every 3-4 weeks. Our aim is to continue to stretch these sessions out now until she can fully self-manage (maybe with a maintenance session here and there). Do you have headaches and/or migraines and want to know if physio can help? Come and see us! #headache #migraine #physio #dryneedling #neck #backinmotion @ Back In Motion Rosny Park See more

22.01.2022 Who else has injured themselves getting back into their sport? after recovering from his knee injury, Chris decided to come back to surprise Jess with a new hamstring strain from rugby a couple of weeks later Chris has learned that it is best to get onto injuries sooner rather than later. We have started with dry needling and isometric hamstring exercises and will progress to more functional strength in the next couple of sessions. Nice work Chris and we cant wait to see you back on the rugby field soon! #rugby #physio #hamstring #dryneedling #strength #backinmotion @ Back In Motion Rosny Park

22.01.2022 The Crabwalk! If youve ever been into our clinic for pilates or a lower limb injury, you would know that our physios love this exercise this is one of those exercises that look easy but they burn! The aim of this exercise is to improve gluteus medius strength (one of your hip stabilising muscles). You should feel this exercise working the outside of your hips when you do it! #glutes #strength #resistance #band #physio #rehab

21.01.2022 First Saturday Pilates class TOMORROW @ 9:30am Heres one of the many exercises we use! We love this core press out exercise on the pilates reformer. The trick is to put on less springs so that the core has to work harder to pull you back in! Our practice manager Aleisha and receptionist Adelaide managed to do it without any springs on (ninja level) #pilates #reformer #core #workout #strong #physio

21.01.2022 Merry Christmas from us all here at Back In Motion Rosny Park! We hope you all have a well deserved break and enjoy time with friends and family despite the chaos this year has been. 19.01.2022 Fitball Glute Bridges! These really require some focus! Another exercise that doesn’t look too bad until you actually try it This exercise involves a lot of core/pelvic control as well as glute and hamstring strength. Try pre-activating your lower core by drawing your belly button towards your spine and squeeze your glutes to then lift your hips up. Try and keep your hips as steady as possible - we don’t want to see too much wobbling side to side! For an extra challenge, cross your arms over your chest like physio Claire is here

01.01.2022 Meet Christian! Christian has been working with Jess for the past 4 or so months. He has been suffering from a stubborn L) medial collateral ligament injury (inside of the knee) for about 18 months now.... Christians main goal is to join a gym again and get back into heavy squats and deadlifts. He used to do this and loved it but hasnt been able to since he hurt his knee. We decided that due to restricted equipment at home, his best plan was to come and do our 12 week exercise rehab program and then transition back to the gym. After thorough assessment of his knee joint, strength and stability of the hips, knee and feet, we developed a program for Christian to complete in our rehab sessions. We have just finished our 12 weeks and Christian can now comfortably squat 50kg and deadlift 60kg! Christian had one minor set back during his program (which may or may not have involved his dog ) but he didnt let this stop him from achieving his goals. Well done Christian and we cant wait to hear how you go training at @af_rosnypark!
