23.01.2022 The most versatile item you will ever pack is a sarong. It is so much more than a coverup when you are at the beach. It can be used as a sheet, a head and shoulder covering when visiting temples and the like, a towel, a privacy screen for those nights you are in a large or busy dorm, folded into a head rest, twirled to make a rope, They weigh nothing, take up very little room and can be bought for just a few dollars, so when you see a sarong you love, shop away!

09.01.2022 Q. "Can we camp on the Whitsundays Islands?" A. "Yes, you sure can. The islands are national parks with secluded beaches, fringing coral reefs and distinctive flora. You will require a permit from Queensland National Parks (there is an office nearby the hostel) and fees apply. "Staff at reception will be happy to help you with details on how to get to the islands and where to find information".

03.01.2022 If you enjoy cooking, like sharing recipes and meals, or just find it more economical to cook at home, BBB's fully equipped kitchen will be a welcome find. All pots, pans, crockery and cutlery are supplied free of charge and there are plenty of dry and fridge storage areas available. If you are keen to keep an eye on your health and fitness while you are travelling, have a chat to the owners who will be more than happy to share tips and recipes.

03.01.2022 Sailing tours are operating again in the Whitsundays. There are options for one day trips to the Whitsunday Islands for snorkelling, diving, sailing and exploring the islands. There are also overnight sailing trips, where you sleep on board the boat for one or two nights which will allow you to see more of the region and all meals, snorkelling equipment etc are included. Different boats cater to different needs and it can be confusing working out which trip will suit what you are after. Our friendly reception staff are happy to help you and give you unbiased advice on the options to make sure you have a great time.
