25.01.2022 What a 24hr road trip just so little miss could dip her toes in the sand, we saw some amazing country side in the Gippsland of Victoria but has we saved the best for last for indie? Who wants to see some pics of a cracker of a road trip?
24.01.2022 Waterfalls how good are they? This was one little gem we never thought it would be where it was. We drove past it the first times by about 15km because it just did not look like it would be there. Nalbaugh State Forest is that little play of pure peace; we didn't come across another sole there expect a wallaby. ... These falls would be beautiful on a sunny hot summers day to sit and enjoy with a cold beer or 2. See more
24.01.2022 No coldies for us this week, maybe a few coming up as well. We aren't missing them! Yeah it is nice to enjoy a beer after a long week sitting around the fire but is it really the beer that makes it or the people?? Let us know what you think or

23.01.2022 Finding little towns with a lot of character is what it is all about isn't it. We took the wrong turn and ended up in Delegate, while we were checking it out we stumbled across the Early Settlers Hut. It looked terrific and well cared. The Early Settlers Hut is believed to be the first European dwelling on the Monaro. Nearby there is a at Bendoc which was a gold mining village. There are bush walks, 4x4'ing and fishing. ... A caravan park is in town offering both powered and unpowered sites. On the road heading to Bombala, there was a sign allowing fires down on the river; it looked a great spot to pull up do a bit of fishing and enjoy lunch. Delegate is a town with a lot of history, one to put on the map! See more
23.01.2022 Welcome Friday, last day of the week the one we all count down for isn't it. It is going to be a quiet one for me staying in Gloucester, no one nagging me to do things around the yard or house. Man that woman has some lists for me to do when I get back. I wonder if she won't notice I'm missing for a few more weeks. It has sure been a while since we have sat around a fire and enjoyed a beer or 2. It has been way too cold for the girl...s to be outside, but with the weather warming up through the day and still chilly at night down-home it will defiantly be coming back out. 14.01.2022 Swags Swags Swags! We had an experience recently that we kicked ourselves with we should have known better and checked earlier but we though oh nah its fine it will be ok. Well it wasnt!... When we sold the canopy we left our swag in the tray strapped down to the draws, that was no worries. It was in our ARB swag bag sweet we thought. These bags are amazing and definitely worth the money. It was our own silly fault. Forster Tuncurry has a lot of rain, more than we imagined and that was one of the reasons we wanted to move away. We are so grateful for rain of any time but over 200mm in one day then continued on through out the week which more as well it was something the 3 of us just was not used to. So after being relatively dry where we have come from, we left the swag in the ARB bag on the Ute thinking yep everything would be ok. Well it wasnt, we should have know better when nothing would dry on the line because of the moisture in the ground. That yep the swag would be wet as well. And sure enough it was then with the weather warming up we made a new friend in the swag. Welcome mould! The bag was fine thank goodness but these bags arent designed for that much rain. So when travelling if its forecast for a heap of rain make sure you move your swags out of it and put them some where dry. Protection is just that protection it isnt a solid structure that will keep things dry. #thursdaytip #thursdaytrick #backroadgypsy #livelifeoutdoors #bush #beach #mountains #backroads #dirtroads #gypsylife #liveinthemoment #don'tbescared #mudding #travelbug #neverstopexploring #countryroads #nothingisordinary #seekthesimplelife #trip #shows #rodeos #brglivelifeoutdoors See more

13.01.2022 For Hodgie’s birthday Indie and I got him @theadventurechallenge family edition book for some laughs to go with the rest of his presents. We got to use it on the weekend, Hodgie scratched off one of the challenges. It was to make a food item different, knowing that we were on the road we went with something easy Coloured Pancakes. ... 13.01.2022 Well you guys asked here it is, what a cracker of a trip some of the spots along the way are absolutely cracking, you can still see the deviation of what the fires had caused and how the land is recovering but it’s still amazing as ever, the Mckillops bridge in the deddick valley was a cracker with amazing views of the snowy river, and of course our little girl had to swim but for approx 600km round trip it was well worth it, if your keen to know more or exact locations just hit us up @ Tubbut
12.01.2022 Gloucester falls amazing a nice 1.5-2hr drive from Gloucester its self with have winding thru the foot hills of the mountains before jumping on the dirt knocking a few rpms out of your engine and taking it easy to entourage the surrounds Once you get to the car park its about 1.8km loop taking in some stunning views from lookouts. There is a few hills etc to go up and down so the kids should love and wear them out Once at the fall jump down on the rocks and enjoy the views, Id imagine summer would be perfect up there!
12.01.2022 This one is a little out of the $15 per person per night budget, but it is close enough for the facilities of the park. Narooma Big 4 Caravan park, we drove past a few years ago and have been talking about checking it out. Have you ever been there? The heated water park looks impressive, and I think we could all have some fun in that. ... Powered Van sites start at $50.00 per night for two adults with a minimum of 2 nights stay if booking on the website. Does anyone have the Big 4 Perks card, is it worth it? Having the Perks card gives a discount, so who knows we might splurge a little just for the heated water park. See more
12.01.2022 Spring has sprung, and the flowers out now are so dam beautiful. I am not a green thumb, hey I killed a cactus, definitely not proud of it. Now we have the garden; I need to work on having more skills in this area. We need some colour around here, what's the easiest things to grow?
12.01.2022 Well I’ve gotta say I’m pretty impressed with the new awning, it’s the xtm 270 from bcf, sure it’s not the most expensive on the market but if your in the market for a new one go check them out God I can’t wait to hit the tracks over the weekend keep a eye out for our adventures @ Cooma, New South Wales

11.01.2022 Where do you prefer to travel to small towns to see the charm and history or big cities with the vast shopping centres and all the modern facilities? We are small-town people; there is nothing better than coming into cute little towns with friendly main streets, people, at checkouts that talk to you or a friendly wave from the drivers seat or head nod while walking down the road. You don't even need to know anyone in little towns to fee...l welcome. Cooma, Berridale, Adaminaby, Bombala, Nimmitabel and Delegate all have this plus all the other towns around the area. There is something about each of these towns that makes you feel welcome. The history is impressive, the old buildings are beautiful plus there is so much to see and do. From learning about the Snowy Hydro Scheme at the Discovery centre, go fishing for trout and talk a walk through one of the many walking trails or national parks. These towns are worth putting on your map to visit. Have you ever been to any of these towns? See more
10.01.2022 Taking time away from social media and technology is what we love. For Ames every day is being on the computer and always have the phone to her ear, that's recruitment life. And for me I am always on the two way. Even Indie at daycare has technology they use for games and learning. It is so lovely to be stepping away from it all and just being in each others company and getting back to having conversations, playing and just being silly.... 08.01.2022 Man I love this beast, it is looking tough still a little more to do to be happy with it completely but that's just cosmetic stuff. Definitely needing to change those recovery tracks, just not sure what colour to get. Should have got the teal ones.
06.01.2022 Do you have throttle lag? I splashed out on the triton and bought it one of these little Idrive's, wow wee did it make a difference when trying to overtake a truck or two. 04.01.2022 Bredbo NSW is a cute little town between Canberra and Cooma. Offers Free camping at the pub, I noticed this driving past on the weekend. We had stopped in Bredbo a few years back for pancakes which were to die for and the Christmas Shop. Let's say I would be happy to celebrate Christmas all year round after being in this shop. The pub is always busy so beer must be cold and food good, so why not pull up for a night or 2. Showers are ava...ilable $5 to use them but hey not bad and well under $15.00 a night. 03.01.2022 Sundays are family days; today has changed our plans from getting out and exploring in the bush again to indoor play centres and a looksie around Canberra. Sad to say that when we were in Forster we were getting over it, I could never get the washing dried. What are your go to activates for rainy days?

02.01.2022 Are you a hat on dash type of person? If you are, what do you keep ball cap or Akubra? We used to be Akurbra's, but now we are keeping our Back Road Gypsy trucker hats up there. 01.01.2022 Did you ever lay outside and watch the clouds roll by? I used to love picking animals and things out of the clouds. These caught my attention on the way to Canberra on the weekend. They were low on the mountains and just looked like marshmallows. It was such a breathtaking drive with everything starting to green up knowing we were getting some rain made it even better.
01.01.2022 This pair crack me up nothing surprises me and they definitely make their own fun. They went to a camp draft a couple of weeks ago and this is what I get sent. Indie not only had Ames twirl well trying to around a makeshift dance floor. She also had her best riding buddy dancing with her as well. But all she wants was to do the whole Dirty Dancing left. For what looks like a feather lite little girl she is bloody heavy. ... It was Ames mission to get it done and she did with thanks to friends. I’m glad that we are teaching our little girl what life is like away from the big smoke. I don’t think she will ever be a night club kid and will definitely expect a man or lady to be able to dance or willing to try at least. Does anyone else get silly videos like this? #campdraftfun #countryswingdancing #countryswing #shanekeridance #countryswingthing #mummadaughterdance #tryingtodance #didolife #missmygirls #countrywayoflife #nobigsmokehere
