08.01.2022 Have you ever thought about learning to use sign language? A Key Word Sign (KWS) workshop is a great introduction - you can learn a core vocabulary, which matches the Auslan (Australian Sign Language) hand signs. You can then use these signs with anyone who uses sign language. You can also use these signs with your baby! Babies are very good at understanding gestures and learning to use them, before they learn to speak. Check out this flyer for more information about learning Key Word Sign.

05.01.2022 Constantly staring at your phone or looking at your laptop?. If you pause and pay attention to the position of your neck whilst doing these activities, I am sure you'll find that your head is WAYY further forward than it should be! A forward head carriage, or "text-neck" is very common among today's modern society! It is often characterised by postural deformity of the neck and upper back. So how is this problematic? Well.. This, in combination with kyphosis (hunchback) can... lead to a rounded upper back and added pressure to your cervical vertebrae.. OUCH!! Now, because your spine was not bio-mechanically designed to be that way, pain, hypertension headaches and discomfort can occur! So, a way to avoid this is to pay attention to how you're holding your head on your shoulders. Bring your chin back towards your neck and drop those shoulders! If you find that you can't do this.. it's time to see your chiro!
