25.01.2022 This says it all!

25.01.2022 Summer storms didn't stop us enjoying bowls at our Christmas dinner!

24.01.2022 As the weather warms up, outdoor activities are becoming much more attractive. Running, however can create problems for knees. New research suggests that with the right approach, it can actually be good for your knees.

21.01.2022 We hope the new year has been treating you well, and that you are enjoying what has turned out to be quite a lengthy summer! When it comes to being outdoors, the link between sunburn and skin cancers is well-established and most of us now try and avoid spending too much time in the sun. But it turns out that heading for shade might not be enough, check out this article from the ABC: http://www.abc.net.au//the/stories/2015/01/19/4158212.htm

19.01.2022 Good sleep is vital to our well-being, but many people know little about it. Have a look at this link:

15.01.2022 "The simple activity that you've been doing since you were about a year old is now being touted as "the closest thing we have to a wonder drug," in the words of... Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to Harvard Health Publishing, walking comes with a host of benefits. Here's a list of five that may surprise you! 1. It counteracts the effects of weight-promoting genes 2. It helps tame a sweet tooth! 3. It reduces the risk of developing breast cancer 4. It eases joint pain 5. It boosts immune function So, #GetMoving and see the benefits for yourself! Always proceed with caution (and have fun) when participating in any physical activity. If you happen to sustain an injury, please consult with your local #osteo for treatment or for a referral to your local GP.

15.01.2022 In case you missed our spring display of clivia's, we're showing them off here! Winter was a time of change for us at Back to Balance, with our long-term colleague Kylie Read leaving to work in her own practice. Ariana is now working just on Saturdays, and Kimberly has started maternity leave with her second little one due soon.... We recently welcomed osteopath Jennifer Keir who will be with us until Christmas. Philip and James are continuing to work as usual, with our wonderful receptionist Geraldine to make you feel at home.

14.01.2022 Despite last week's weather it feels like Spring is finally here! No excuses - here's some great tips on how to move more each day.

11.01.2022 Researchers call for walking pace to be emphasized in public health messages, as analysis of over 50,000 walkers finds a faster pace is associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. The secret to living longer could be as simple as picking up your pace!

11.01.2022 It's our birthday! Back to Balance began 10 years ago at Adamstown with a great team of people, one of whom is our lovely receptionist Geraldine. She is happy to help with all your enquiries and welcome you to the clinic. Along with Philip and Kimberly, we have been joined over the years by Gisela our psychologist and osteopaths Ariana, James and Laura. We look forward to a new year, and decade, of being able to help you live life to the fullest!

09.01.2022 Use it or lose it! Even if it’s cold and wet the old saying still applies. If we stop using our bodies they simply don’t work as well, whether we’re talking strength, fitness or flexibility. Try these winter exercise tips to keep moving.... https://exerciseright.com.au/7-winter-workout-tips/

04.01.2022 Did you grow up in a green area? If so, you may be enjoying better mental health than your peers. New research suggests that people who have grown up in close contact with nature are much less likely to develop mental health problems in adulthood than peers who had less access to green space as children. Important to note: It is never to late to get in touch with nature and your surroundings!

04.01.2022 Look familiar? We can all find ourselves in this position sometimes. Remember to check your posture!

03.01.2022 Wishing all our patients at Back to Balance a safe and peaceful Easter, and hope you can use the long weekend to relax and enjoy your favourite pastimes and treats Philip and James are continuing to work at the clinic, and along with Geraldine, taking extra care and precautions to make sure the clinic is safe for patients and staff. We request that if you have been in contact with someone diagnosed or suspected of having coronavirus, or have a fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath, please postpone your appointment.
