24.01.2022 Back to Belmore extends its best birthday wishes today to President Luke "The Ceva" Cevolani, who has served as head of the organisations governing body since 2014. A founding executive committee member and Vice President for six years, Ceva was a staunch advocate for the restoration and preservation of Belmore Sports Ground long before it was trendy and fashionable. His solid experience in sports management, marketing and event management together with his diverse leadership and passion for local sport has brought a bold perspective and fresh ideas to Back to Belmore that the community at large rightly expects from the organisation. #backtobelmore #theceva

22.01.2022 "Set highrise sights on Belmore Sportsground" - Torch newspaper, Wednesday 26 July 2017 This article clearly demonstrates the need to continue advocating the preservation and restoration of Belmore Sports Ground as a top-class sporting facility. As a thriving community collectively, we can ill afford to rest on our laurels. It would behoove the NSW Government to carefully consider the ramifications of their Urban Corridor Renewal Strategy. Thank you for your continued support of Back to Belmore.

21.01.2022 Record Dogs field - Sun-Herald Sunday, 17 December 2017 By Adrian Proszenko... These are the 19 candidates and the order they will appear on the ballot paper at the Canterbury board election in February. Chris Anderson is in top spot in what is a record field of candidates battling for control of Belmore. "Back to Belmore" patron Luke Brailey, who drew fifth spot during the ballot for places, is favouring the "Reform" ticket seeking to install Lynne Anderson as chair. "Somehow, there has been a breakdown in the relationship between the Bulldogs and Back to Belmore," Brailey said. "Whether Ray Dib, Raelene Castle, the fall of the Roman Empire or the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD that destroyed Pompeii are to blame is completely inconsequential. Were happy to wipe the slate clean, make a fresh start and press the reset button on our relations with Belmore Sports Grounds primary occupant."

20.01.2022 London calling! Back to Belmore Ambassador Hamza Anwer proudly repping the brand in the heart of the British capital. 20.01.2022 Back to Belmore Press Release regarding the resignation of Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle.

18.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Wednesday, 25 March 2020 Belmore Sports Ground will be without an NRL match for an indefinite period after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the shutdown of the 2020 Telstra Premiership earlier this week.... The Round 10 fixture between the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles is the latest local event to be cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. The premiership match at the historic venue was due to be held on Friday, 15 May attracting thousands of visitors to the Canterbury-Bankstown district. Back to Belmore President Luke Cevolani said the organisation felt for all stakeholders, knowing the decision would have wide-spanning ramifications. It affects not only locals but those who come from all around Sydney and interstate to watch the match, Mr Cevolani said. Major sporting events at Belmore Sports Ground inject thousands of dollars into the local economy. The games at the venue impact residents and retailers in Belmore. The cancellation also has significant ramifications for our local economy given visitors will not be utilising the cafes, eateries and restaurants on Burwood Road before and after the game. Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey said the cancellation was a huge disappointment for the Canterbury-Bankstown district, particularly locals and Bulldogs fans who use the match as an opportunity to catch up with friends and celebrate the history of the iconic facility. While we are disappointed that the tenth NRL premiership match of the 21st century will not be proceeding at Belmore in May, the health, wellbeing and safety of all stakeholders athletes, officials, staff and spectators must always come first, Mr Brailey said. Tough times dont last but tough people do. We are tough people. Belmore Sports Ground will come roaring back as the top-class sporting facility we all know and love.

18.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Tuesday, 29 October 2019 Its official. Belmore Sports Ground is the premier sporting precinct in the local area after it was confirmed the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will host the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at their spiritual home in 2020. After the official NRL draw release today, the boys from Brookvale were confirmed as the Bulldogs Round 10 opponents at Belmore on Friday, 15 May.... It is a huge coup for the Canterbury-Bankstown district to secure an NRL match after successfully hosting nine premiership games in the last five consecutive years. Big time rugby league first returned to Belmore in the 21st century after a 17-year absence when 16,764 spectators packed into the ground to witness the Bulldogs defeat the Melbourne Storm 20-4 in 2015. This years match against the Storm on Sunday, 26 May attracted a crowd of 13,131. The sun may not have shone on Canterburys fortunes that day but it was nothing but blue skies for Belmore and a major boon for local businesses. Much to the chagrin of the majority of spectators, the visitors downed the hosts 28-6. Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey said the community is eager to welcome the NRL and Bulldogs back following a successful game this year which he said was a big economic booster and a way to put the vibrant Sydney suburb on visitors radars. To have two NRL sides playing for premiership points at Belmore Sports Ground for the tenth time in five years is absolutely phenomenal. When we formed Back to Belmore in 2005 at a time when advocating the restoration of the historic venue was viewed with a degree of ridicule and nobody else particularly cared about its future, we couldnt have imagined this. The more times you get Belmore Sports Ground on national TV the better off we are for visitors. Each visitor that comes each year to the game and visits one of the cafes, eateries and restaurants on Burwood Road is going to spend money. Mr Brailey said. Belmore Sports Ground is a fantastic facility and it is great for local fans. The news that the historic venue will host an NRL game next year keeps Belmores place on the national sporting map and the facilitys prestige has evidently never diminished. It is a big boost for the local economy and the fixture benefits locals and businesses. The NRL clash in 2020 will inject thousands of dollars into the local economy and everybody wins. Back to Belmore is looking forward to a bumper crowd next year and we commend the Bulldogs for once again choosing to maintain that innate connection with their traditional home ground. Tickets will go on sale for the Belmore match next year.

17.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Friday, 15 December 2017 The battle for the Bulldogs board of directors will be even tighter now that voting members have 19 candidates to choose from when they attend the Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 11 February next year.... Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey is among the record field of candidates vying for a spot on the Clubs seven-member board, grabbing a top five position on the ballot paper following a draw by Link Market Services at Belmore Sports Ground yesterday after nominations closed two weeks ago. About 13 candidates and officials gathered for the traditional piece of pre-election theatre at Bulldogs HQ. The names of candidates were drawn from a bucket, bingo-style, to determine the order of candidates on the ballot paper. Mr Brailey said the forthcoming election of seven directors would be an auspicious opportunity for Back to Belmore to renew the organisations longstanding relationship with the Bulldogs. "Somehow, there has been a breakdown in the relationship between the Bulldogs and Back to Belmore. Whether Ray Dib, Raelene Castle, the fall of the Roman Empire or the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD that destroyed Pompeii are to blame is completely inconsequential. There is no point apportioning blame or pointing the finger at any individual," he said. "Were happy to wipe the slate clean, make a fresh start and press the reset button on our relations with Belmore Sports Grounds primary occupant. To that end, we will be heavily favouring the Reform ticket and supporting Lynne Anderson as Chairwoman. I have personally known the family for over 25 years and Lynne has consistently fostered an environment of collaboration and cohesion with grassroots community organisations which will be crucial as we work towards a shared goal." Bulldogs legend and two-time premiership-winning coach Chris Anderson will be top of the ballot after yesterdays randomised draw. Mr Brailey, who is running as the official endorsed Back to Belmore candidate, drew fifth position. Photo: Matthew Georges

12.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Monday, 29 July 2019 Voting members of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club will have their say on Belmore Sports Ground in a new survey commissioned exclusively by Back to Belmore.... The peak body for advocating the preservation and restoration of Belmore Sports Ground is calling on voting members to share their views on the future of the Bulldogs spiritual home by taking part in a survey to test the public mood and gauge stakeholder sentiment about the historic facility. Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey said the opinion poll would make it easy for Bulldogs electors to have their say. As part of Back to Belmores 2020 masterplan which coincides with our 15th anniversary of service to the Canterbury-Bankstown district, the organisation is seeking to better understand the views of Bulldogs voting members to strengthen and grow the very special and collaborative relationship with the venues primary occupant which is an enduring pillar of local sport, Mr Brailey said. We dont expect the poll to be exactly accurate but what it will do is reflect voter opinion and give us a snapshot of stakeholder sentiment. It is important for us to understand what Bulldogs voting members really think about Belmore Sports Ground. While many of the members might express dissatisfaction with the venue they might never write a letter or an e- mail. This survey will make it easier for the football clubs electors to come together and express their views with unfettered candour. Back to Belmore will contact randomly chosen Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs voting members in August to provide their input.

10.01.2022 If ever there was any need of proof of the durability and endurance of Back to Belmore, it is embodied in this singular image. Over 13,000 fans converged on Belmore Sports Ground earlier this month to watch the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs triumphant homecoming. A plucky fight against unknown odds always appeals to the average Australian. Our unique story over the past 12 years has shown that the long and winding road was fraught with obstacles and was a stern test of the movements endurance. Thank you to all who believed. #BacktoBelmore #Bulldogs #NRLBulldogs #WelcomeHome

10.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Wednesday, 22 May 2019 Belmore is set to welcome the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for the fifth consecutive year and ninth premiership match this century when the club brings its sole NRL fixture for 2019 to Belmore Sports Ground against the Melbourne Storm on Sunday afternoon in a huge coup for the local area.... Momentum is building in Bulldogs heartland ahead of the epic NRL clash that is expected to bring thousands of visitors to Belmore with people expected to travel from not just across Sydney but plenty of diehard Storm supporters making the trek north of the Victorian border. Game day will include two grades of rugby league and a host of on and off-field entertainment. Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey has noticed a buzz going around Belmore as enthusiasm for the event builds. There is a real vibe in Belmore at the moment. You can just feel it in the air. Its an event not just for footy fans but families and its a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the rich history of this amazing venue. Lets make the most of it. Mr Brailey said. The NRL match is not only big news for Bulldogs supporters and proponents of sport in the area, but also local businesses hoping to cash in on the game. It is a major win for these businesses as Bulldogs and Storm fans flock from all over, pumping money into local cafes and eateries. Its great for the local economy and it gives Belmore exposure. The outcome is everyone wins. Upon the release of the 2019 NRL draw last October, the Back to Belmore executive committee forecast the match would provide a major boon to the local economy as well as provide grassroots rugby league with a significant boost. Full house signs are expected to go up across Burwood Road with restaurants, eateries, cafes and hotels rejoicing with establishments full of customers. The organisations governing body hopes the NRLs return to the Bulldogs traditional home on Sunday will provide the impetus for further redevelopments to Belmore Sports Ground which could make the historic venue capable of hosting more major sporting events in the long-term future.

10.01.2022 Press Release regarding the appointment of Andrew Hill to the position of Chief Executive of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

08.01.2022 The Back to Belmore executive committee has officially confirmed volunteer leader Hamza Anwer as the organisations new brand ambassador. Last night, the governing body formally named the young athlete from Punchbowl and former NRL Rookie contestant as the latest member of its exclusive list of brand ambassadors which includes ex-NRL star Daniel Conn, fitness model Juan Pablo Coreo and homegrown NCAA (US College Football) player Brock Davies. As a brand ambassador, Mr Anw...er will promote Back to Belmores clothing line across multiple social media platforms and represent the brand at various events. The 23-year-old called it an honour to be one of the brand ambassadors. Back to Belmore plays an important role in the management and promotion of local sport, as well as providing a pathway and assistance to local talent through the ground as a multi-purpose sporting facility, Mr Anwer said. Im proud to be a part of an organisation that aims to optimise the positive influences that sport has on the community. Back to Belmore President Luke Cevolani said the executive committee is very happy with their new ambassador, saying the long-serving volunteer aligns very well with the organisations ethos and the brands local grassroots messaging. Hamzas presence and encouragement will motivate many young athletes to pursue sport, Mr Cevolani said. We are very delighted to welcome Hamza as our brand ambassador. 07.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Thursday, 25 October 2018 Since 2005, Back to Belmore has been the peak body for advocating the preservation and restoration of Belmore Sports Ground as a top-class sporting facility as well as the development of future athletes to meet their full potential.... From a community standpoint, the organisation would love nothing more than for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs to stage as many NRL home games as possible at their spiritual home. However, Back to Belmore fully respects the Bulldogs right to make informed decisions as to where they play their NRL matches. The club is fully aware of local community sentiment and the issue does not need to be forced. Any major sporting event is a substantial boon for the Canterbury-Bankstown district and the solitary game at Belmore in 2019 against the Melbourne Storm is warmly welcomed. This Sunday afternoon fixture on 26 May will be a significant boost to trade for the area. Local cafes and eateries in Belmore will do a roaring trade with locals and visitors alike and that is a massive win for our community. The change in leadership at the Bulldogs has fostered a more inclusive and amicable relationship with Back to Belmore as we rebuild one brick at a time. We look forward to working in a collaborative and cohesive manner with the new Bulldogs board in the months and years ahead to ensure that Belmore Sports Ground is safeguarded for future generations of athletes and upgraded to the top-class facility it warrants so that the venue can accommodate as many major sporting events as possible in the long-term future. One team. One goal. One venue.

05.01.2022 The Back to Belmore Inc. executive committee warmly congratulates brand ambassador Pablo Corea on being chosen by AUSSIE ELITE as the 2015 Male Model of the Year. One of the poster boys for our mens clothing label, Pablo is a passionate advocate for the preservation and restoration of Belmore Sports Ground. As an independent model network, Aussie Elite supports all models and credible agencies. Well done, Pablo! 05.01.2022 Back to Belmore Inc. is delighted with this announcement but we sincerely hope that the Coalition, if re-elected next Saturday, will match Labors commitment.

05.01.2022 Belmore Sports Ground at dusk.

04.01.2022 Signed. Sealed. Delivered. Volunteer Leader Aram Aldrouich was among a number of #BacktoBelmore volunteers pounding the pavement in Belmore, Belfield, Lakemba, Punchbowl, Roselands, Kingsgrove, Campsie, Earlwood, Canterbury and Ashbury over the Australia Day long weekend delivering letters in support of our Patron Luke Brailey to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs voting members ahead of the football clubs crucial board election at the AGM on Sunday, 11 February.

04.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE Monday, 25 November 2019 Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey has unequivocally ruled out making a second tilt at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs board of directors in February 2020 after several months of speculation.... I dont have any intentions or plans to run for the board at the next Bulldogs AGM. Its simply not on the cards, Mr Brailey said. Since the election of the Reform team in 2018, substantial progress has been made in relation to the important nexus between the Bulldogs and Back to Belmore. The dialogue between the two entities has intensified and flourished to build greater mutual confidence to resolve outstanding issues from the previous board to deal with the serious challenges facing Belmore Sports Grounds future as a top-class sporting facility. Several high-profile candidates are now believed to be gearing up to contest seats on the Bulldogs seven-member board of directors. A spokesperson for the Back to Belmore committee suggested that the organisations decision-making body would seriously consider writing to Bulldogs voting members next month to endorse candidates for the board of directors who genuinely seek to enhance the relationship with Back to Belmore and promote the advancement of Belmore Sports Ground in a collaborative and cohesive manner. A letter to Bulldogs voting members endorsing candidates for the board is definitely an option. It has proven very persuasive in previous years and the Back to Belmore brand still wields a large amount of influence over the voting base. It is something that we take very seriously, and we will wait and see who throws their hat in the ring. However, it behoves potential candidates for the Bulldogs board of directors to articulate a compelling sales pitch to the Back to Belmore executive committee and convince the peak body for advocating the preservation and restoration of Belmore Sports Ground that they would be able to manage the important relationship between our organisation and the historic venues primary occupant a very high bar in itself but they will get a fair hearing regardless, the spokesperson said. Bulldogs Chair Lynne Anderson and the board she leads have started to produce the necessary remedies to get the relationship between the football club and Back to Belmore in a position far better than it has ever been since our inception in 2005. The NSW Government has committed $2 billion to upgrading sporting venues in Sydney and the executive committee rightly expects to see a new business case for Belmore Sports Ground in the next 24 months but we finally have a Bulldogs board that works in unison with Back to Belmore and treats the organisation as a partner rather than an obstacle. Nominations for positions on the Bulldogs board close at 5pm on Saturday, 30 November.

03.01.2022 Back to Belmore is delighted with the announcement earlier this week that the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will again stage two NRL premiership fixtures at the most beautiful sporting facility in the world, Belmore Sports Ground, in 2016. The first match will be held on Monday, 4 April (Round 5) against the Canberra Raiders. The second will be held in Round 25 against the North Queensland Cowboys. Well done to Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle for her continued leadership and passion for Belmore. It is on this incredible womans advocacy and hard work that this wondrous outcome rests. Lets all be there! #backtobelmore #belmorewins #localsportwins

01.01.2022 Back to Belmore extends its best birthday wishes today to former President Luke Brailey, who served as head of the organisations governing body from its inception in 2005 until stepping down in 2014. It remains an enduring legacy of this passionate individual that over the course of nine years he was able to lead our movement at a time when most believed that Belmore Sports Ground had no future whatsoever, and was able to change peoples perceptions about the future of the h...istoric venue from unyielding cynicism and doubt to unwavering optimism and excitement. The restoration and preservation of the most beautiful sporting facility in the world owes a lot to this dedicated leaders drive, vision and advocacy. Luke is well loved by both the executive committee and the public. His outstanding passion for Belmore Sports Grounds future as a top-class sporting facility showcases his trademark combination of enthusiasm, panache and commitment, as evidenced by his nomination as Champion of the West for the "Fair Go for the West" campaign in 2014 for services to local sport through advocacy for improved sporting facilities. Luke has the ability to empower and motivate people from all walks of life to take challenges head on. #backtobelmore See more
