25.01.2022 Lets get to talking about carpal tunnel syndrome. Why? Because it is one of the most common nerve entrapment syndromes. Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed within the carpal bones of your wrist.... Initially, symptoms can include pins and needles in the thumb, index and middle finger with half of the ring finger possibly being involved. With time, loss of coordination and strength of the thumb may occur, making it difficult to perform fine movements of the thumb and first 2-3 digits. Eg. Pinch, gripping In sevre cases, wasting of the muscles in the hand is a possibility. CTS can be caused by repetitive movement on the wrist, previous injury, pregnancy, diabetes mellitus, long term overuse, work situations eg. Typing on a keyboard/moving the mouse/trade work So what can chiropractic offer those who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome? Soft tissue therapy to the area and adjacent structures Manual manipulation to the wrist - aimed to help with the compression and release tension Low force adjustments may also be an option! Taping! Both rigid and kinesiotape have shown to be a great asset when treating carpal tunnel syndrome Take home exercises to help keep the area relaxed and limit compression on the wrist eg. Stretches For the cases where muscle coordination may be at a loss, strengthening exercises will be issued to help. Lifestyle/work life advice - sometimes doing something a little different can make all the difference. In some sevre cases, surgery is also an option to be considered. But dont let it get to that point! Recognize early and there are other ways of getting it sorted out - like seeing your chiro! For further enquires feel free to contact Back To Mobility Chiropractic. [email protected] For appointment bookings contact Dr. Rana Atme on 0416869100 Thank you! #CarpalTunnelSyndrone#CTS#WristPain#HandPain#NerveEntrapment#Chiropractic#Chiro#BackToMobility#NaturalTherapy#AlternativeHealth#GetCracking#GetBackToMobility

24.01.2022 Upper Trapezius tretch. The upper trapezius originates from the external occipital proturberance, medial third of the superior nuchal line, the ligamentum nuchae, and the spinous process of C7, attaching onto the lateral third of the clavicle and the medial aspect of the acromion process of the scapula. Its main action is the upward rotation of the scapula and elevation of the scapula.... Perform 2x with a hold of 30 seconds. Its important to not over stretch, once you feel a bit of tension in the muscle, hold it for 30 seconds. Then take it to the next point of stretch. NOTE: Its important that you dont rotate your head. Keeping it straight will ensure that you stretch the upper trap in isolation, thus making it more effective. Shown is the stretch for the left side. @luke_grasso1

22.01.2022 SCOLIOSIS! Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine. Its important to be able to recognise the signs early and have it treated as soon as possible to prevent any further developments.... Heres a few things that you can look out for: 1. One shoulder blade that is higher than the other. 2. One shoulder blade that sticks out more than the other. 3. Uneven hips. 4. A rotating spine/posture. 5. Problems breathing because of reduced area in the chest for lungs to expand. 6. And of course, back pain!! Here at Back To Mobility Chiropractic, we offer FREE postural assessments, making sure to cover everything from head to toe! 22.01.2022 Levator scapulae stretch. The levator scapulae originates from the transverse process of your atlas/axis (C1/C2), as well as the posterior tubercles of C3/4, inserting at the superior medial border of the scapula. Its main action is to elevate the scapula.... 2x with 30 seconds each stretch. Take it to the initial point of tension and hold. Then proceed to take it to the next point of tension. Combine this with the upper stretch trap to help relieve tension in the upper back/neck. NOTE: A good cue for this stretch is to put your head in a position as if you are smelling your opposite armpit Shown is a stretch for the left side. @luke_grasso1

21.01.2022 Low Back Pain! There are many reasons as to why people suffer from low back pain. But today lets focus on one of the most common reasons, the inability to activate your core and gluteals.... Activation of your core and gluts is one of the most crucial aspects to achieving a stable low back. Failure to do so can result in something we call Distal Cross Syndrome. This is a syndrome in where you have weak abdominals and gluteal muscles, with tight hip flexors and erector spinae muscles. This usually results in a hyperlordosis (excessive curvature of the lumbar spine), thus resulting in back pain. So what can you do about it? The main goal here is to re teach yourself how to activate those weak muscles and relax those which are extremely tight. With chiropractic treatment and rehabilitation combined, you put yourself in an optimal environment to achieve those goals. Massage, manual manipulation (low force manipulations are also offered) and various taping techniques, along with a personalized rehab program are things we implement here at Back To Mobility Chiropractic. At the end of the day, our goal is to get you back into optimal health. So see what chiropractic can do for you. To make your appointment today, you can do the following! Call us! 0416 869 100 Or book online www.backtomobility.com.au For any enquires please dont hesitate to contact us. All contact info is in the bio.

17.01.2022 KINESIOTAPE!! Kinesiotaping is a method of treatment used at Back To Mobility Chiropractic. It can be used for multiple things, one if them being reducing the swelling that can be associated with bruising.... I tried this on myself just to show you an accurate representation of the effects kinesiotaping can have. The first photo is a nasty bruise I acquired whilst playing futsal (keeper life) on the monday of this week. The night of I taped it using the method shown in the second photo. Simply cut a portion of the tape, cutting multiple strips within the tape, then placing the strips over the bruise as shown with a stretch applied in all strips. The last photo shown is the result. The last photo was taken the wednesday of the same week (Just yesterday). Within a small time frame you can see that the redness has decreased and the swelling went down. Not a bad result at all #Kinesiotape#Taping#NoTimeForBruises#Chiropractic#BackToMobility#Chiro#FutsalInjury#SportingInjuries @ Back To Mobility Chiropractic

16.01.2022 Kinesiotape application for low back pain. As apposed to traditional rigid tape, instead of constraining the structures, kinesiology tape aims to promote movement. The whole idea behind kinesiology tape is that when applied with a stretch, it lifts the skin below the applied region.... This encourages lymphatic drainage, muscle support, enhancing proprioception, increased range of motion and possibly eliviate pain. Here, our patient displays taping along the lumbar erector spinae muscles. For this application, we have a verticle strap with a stretch of 30%. Horizontally we have an application of 70% stretch along a trigger point to help reduce stiffness and promote relaxation. For any questions or general enquires, contact Dr. Rana Atme! 0416869100 [email protected] www.backtomobility.com.au Special thanks to Josh
