24.01.2022 It was great to welcome the ABC 7.30 Report team to our site in Nowendoc following in the wake of a powerful article in The Weekend Australian Magazine on our bush fire recovery work. https://t.co/JFCEEuCzG2?amp=1 ....Over 2000 hours of on-site training has been completed by our young people in communities throughout regional NSW.... Sheds, yards and fences along with a great sense of community have been restored helping our local National Parks, Farmers and wildlife get back on track.. We're excited to see their report on our progress, airing tonight! #australianbushfires #730report #backtrack #community

23.01.2022 BackTrack’s first foray into natural resource management!! The Capricorn Foundation has joined BackTrack Youth Works and the University of New England to offer an interactive training opportunity for 15 young people. The program will take place at the Dumaresq Dam Reserve, home to species including Koalas, Barking owls, Greater broad-nosed bats and many others...... Over 12 months, young people will plan, implement and evaluate a defined series of activities that protect and enhance the habitat of native and endangered birds and animals on the property. The project will also include an accredited training component, under the Conservation and Land Management framework. Really excited to see the progress of this great initiative. Pictures below are from the program launch and BBQ.

23.01.2022 Massive shout out to Steve Hulme. Steve just ran 100km to raise money for BackTrack and got it done 1 hour ahead of schedule! Head over to A&O Print, Mail & Fulfilment, they sponsored Steve's run and have a few videos detailing the event. ... Huge effort mate, no idea how you run that far but we are very grateful!

13.01.2022 Last year BackTrack had a great time hanging out with the Tomorrow Man team... They're back again! ------- Join Tomorrow Man for an engaging and impactful two hours of casual and honest conversation exploring what it means to be a man today and what it will mean tomorrow.... Outdated stereotypes are leaving some of our mates, dads, sons, uncles, teammates, workmates and brothers stranded without the tools to live a healthy life. It’s time we got in a room to have a no holds barred, honest, open convo about the state of man. This FREE Tomorrow Man event is proudly brought to you by Beat the Breakdown, with support from The Fathering Project. ------- Register for free via the link below; https://armidaleanightwiththeblokes.eventbrite.com.au/

06.01.2022 Growing the community... It was amazing to hang out in Dubbo last week with some really great organisations and people. LeaderLife.Dubbo hosted a bunch of activities over the course of two days and showed us why they're such a great crew of motivated people. Watching the RuffTRACK mob put on a very entertaining dog jump and the way all these young role models performed and behaved was a healthy reminder that we are on the right track.... We are unique in our own little ways but together we share a common goal. A massive thank you to everyone working together to help make the lives of our young people a little bit brighter. Special mentions to Down The Track Making Tracks Far West NSW inc. Flat Track and Annabelle Chauncy from School for Life Foundation for being a part of it all. We'll see you again soon... #BTEverywhere #RuffTRACK #LeaderLife #DownTheTrack #MakingTracks #FlatTrack #SchoolForLife #Community

04.01.2022 A major factor to the fire recovery work our teams have been doing is the overwhelming sense of gratitude the local farmers and their families have showed our boys as they tackle work over some very tough terrain. In case you missed last night's 7.30 Report https://www.abc.net.au//the-young-people-helping-/12763516... Some have noticed a donate button at the bottom of a few of these posts. We'd like to extend the overwhelming gratitude we've received, to you. Without your help we wouldn't be able to give these kids the education and work they deserve, nor would we be able to help our National Parks, Farmers and wildlife get back on their feet. Thankyou for your support!

01.01.2022 It was great to welcome the NBRA to BackTrack Youth Works yesterday. The National Bushfire Recovery Agency is responsible for the coordination and national response to rebuilding communities affected by fire. They work closely with local organisations like BackTrack to provide support across the country. BackTrack’s fire recovery work kicked off at the beginning of the year and so far we’ve worked on 57 properties and have repaired and rebuilt over 125km’s of fencing. We emp...loyed 15 young people who have clocked up over 2,620 hours of on the job training to date. There is still an enormous amount of work to be done and we’re extremely grateful to have agencies like the NBRA who show us unwavering support.
