15.01.2022 Are you OK with losing $1700 per year to the council for water rates? Thats what you would pay if you wanted to water your yard in the driest 5 months for just an hour a day! Call or email now: 0418 193 194 [email protected] Cost Calculations DAB62MP pump has 730W motor, delivers a maximum of 2700L per hour or 2.7kL, costs $990 inc GST, 6 year warranty = $165 per year over the "life" of the pump. (They last much longer than 6 years BTW) Origin Energys electricity tariffs are from 15.8c to 33.8c per kWh, averaging 25.5c per kWh. To run the pump per hour will cost 18.6c, delivering 2700L (2.7 kL), or 6.9c per kL. If you have solar it would be much cheaper. (0.730 kW x 25.5c per kWh = 18.6c). (18.6c / 2.7kL = 6.9c per kL) Council charges either $1.70 per kL, or $2.55 per kL depending on accumulated usage. An average yearly usage watering the lawn/garden might be 1 hour per day for the 5 driest months of the year. (5 months x 30 days average = 150 days x 1 hour per day = 150 hours). 150 hours of usage per year would deliver 405kL to your yard, costing only $27.95 per year in electricity. (150 hours x 2.7kL per hour = 405 kL. 405 kL x 6.9c per kL = $27.95) Council would charge between $688.50 up to a whopping $1032.73 per year!! (405 kL x $1.70 per kL = $688.50. Or up to 405 kL x $2.55 per kL = $1032.75) Total costs: Average bore costs is $1815 inc GST, lasts 30+ years = $60.50 per year over the "life" of the bore. If we add in the cost of the writing off the bore per year and writing off the pump per year and a years water that is a sum total of $253.45 per year. ($60.50 bore + $165 pump + $27.95 = $253.45) Council charge a yearly water access fee of $696.70, add to that the years water usage and you will be owing council a minimum of $1385.20 up to a whopping $1729.43 per year!! ($348.35 water access charge per 1/2 year * 2 = $696.70. $696.70 + $688.50 (405kL @ cheapest rate) = 1385.20. Up to $696.70 + $1032.73 (405kL @ dearest rate) = $1729.43) Expensive huh?!

12.01.2022 We have been improving the design and implementation of new DAB pumps that we install for your benefit. The original hole from the pump to the pressure switch was only 2mm, this has the chance of getting blocked with sand. If that happens your pump can run with all the taps turned off and this will boil the impeller and internals. (Not covered under warranty). We improve this by drilling out problem pump pressure switch holes to 5mm. We are also replacing the factory standard... mild steel bolts with stainless bolts so that they don't rust out in less than 2 years and so we can easily service your pump. If your pump has been: losing pressure over the years; taking a long time to cut off the power when all the taps are turned off; pumping more than 1 teaspoon of sand in a 10L bucket; turning on during the night for no reason; or anything else weird, let us help you protect your investment and do a service on it.
