22.01.2022 Sowing our second pdk of Millet, Corn, Cowpea, Buster Raddish and Sunflower. Had to mix a bit more seed for the rest of the pdk and also added some lucern, clover, vrtch, peas and rye to finish it off. Sowing into Barley, Barley Grass, and clovers. Most of the grasses are finished and expecting clovers to kick on with 20mm of rain forecast over the next 24hrs. This is our disc seeder we use for our pastures, fantastic for sowing into dry matter.

14.01.2022 After 45mm of rain yesterday we are sowing Lucern ,Digit Grass and Chicory into some STEEP (and slippery) hills grazing to try and increase grazing opportunities by introducing perennial species that will grow throughout the spring, summer and autumn period. This will provide more ground cover, provide feed when winter annuals are finished and make use of any spring/summer rainfall we get as well as keeping living roots in the soil all year round. See how it goes. Hope it works cause it took me all day to sow 13.8ha dodging trees and rocks.
