25.01.2022 Thanks to everyone for their support over the last few weeks. It’s been great to see everyone enjoying being back getting exercise and having fun even though we’ve been under restrictions. After yesterday’s government announcement we will be closing again from Thursday 6th August until September 14th. Hopefully by then it will be safe for us to open and have you back on court. We will then resume competitions and open for casual court hire as soon as we get the all clear ... A reminder for those coming in over the next 3 days you must wear a face mask except whilst on court Stay safe everyone

24.01.2022 We are Back! The Victorian State Government, is allowing us to reopen as from Monday 22nd June 2020. So we have introduced a new court booking system. All court bookings will be done via this method until further notice, to enable us to comply with regulations You must be a member to book a court. If you havent had a chance to sign up as a 2020 member yet, please go to our website where you can sign up on line then book a court. Visit www.ballaratbadminton.com Current member...s will be receiving an instructional email on how to book a court For the next few weeks the following sessions times will be available to book Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. 2pm - 4pm 4-30pm - 6-30pm 7pm - 9pm When booking you will be only able to book 1 court per session, for you and another member. You will need to provide the members name and phone number. Please note the doors will not be opened until 5 mins prior to your session time, and you will be required to vacate the stadium within 5 mins for the completion of the session. As our renovations are ongoing, please enter and exit by the designated doors at the side of the stadium. As is always the case, Kevin is volunteering as a line judge here at the 2020 Victor Oceania Badminton Championships which continues today. 18.01.2022 With todays Vic Government announcement starting to lift lockdown restrictions, we are a step closer to being able to play badminton, pickleball and indoor curling again - but we are still required to stay closed for the time being. The current restrictions will be assessed later this month when it is hoped we can open our doors and have small groups in the stadium again playing the sports that we all love and enjoy. 17.01.2022 COVID 19 Update Please see attached updated COVID 19, notice for Casual opening hours, until 26th March 2020. Please note these hours may change at any time, as circumstances demand... COVID 19 Update Based on decisions made recently by the Government, City Council and other sporting bodies we have made the decision to suspend all senior and junior competitions and coaching groups effective from 12pm, Tuesday March 17th. This includes our Monday coaching groups, Tuesday Mid-Week Ladies, Tuesday A Grade Senior Comp, Wednesday Veterans and Thursday Juniors. The annual Ballarat Veterans Teams Tournament on April 4/5 has also been postponed. In the immediate term we will be open for casual court hire at the following times: Thursday 19th March 4pm 9pm Tuesday 24th March 5pm 8pm Wednesday 25th March 2pm 4pm Thursday 26th March 10am 12pm 5pm 9pm Future opening times will be considered after consideration of advice from government and health organisations. This decision regarding resumption of competition and coaching will be reviewed, and the situation reassessed on Wednesday 15th April 2020. Ballarat Badminton Association will continue to monitor the situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to take every step to protect members and guests against the spread of the virus in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Department of Health. We will need to introduce a number of new initiatives to ensure we abide by these regulations -No more than 20 people at once -No spectators... -Physical distancing of 1.5m -All players must provide contact details -Everyone is encouraged to have the Covid Safe App. -No changerooms or drink fountains available for use -Separate Entry and Exit Point -No shared equipment To ensure we abide by these regulations we will be introducing the following -No Competition -All players must book (NO ENTRY WITHOUT BOOKING) details on how to book will be advised later this week -2 Hour sessions will be available (times to be advised) to allow thorough cleaning between sessions. -2020 Members only . Membership card must be produced. (2020 Membership still available at a discount rate) -2 players per court unless from same household -Cashless payment preferred. 05.01.2022 After today’s announcements, indoor sport is still closed at the moment unfortunately. All going well, we can open up for juniors/students from November 2nd - but no word on when adults are allowed to play badminton, pickleball and curling. This is obviously disappointing for all of us but if Covid numbers keep low we will be back on court soon. We will be making an announcement about resumption of our Thursday Junior Competition in the next couple of days. ... Keep up the great work everyone and stay safe

03.01.2022 After the Victorian Government announcement this morning easing some restrictions unfortunately we are still closed for the time being - as are all indoor recreation facilities. However all going well we are looking at further announcements allowing us to open on June 22nd - with restrictions to the number of players we can allow in the stadium at one time, physical distancing and personal hygiene.
