24.01.2022 With my (technically) second film ‘Georgie’ airing tomorrow, I wanted to post (boast) about the incredible talent, Naomi Sequeira, who voices her. Naomi co-hosted Disney Channel’s ‘Hanging with Adam and Naomi’ WHOA and is now doing impressive grown-up stuff, like US feature films! I had no idea what a talented industry professional Naomi was when I booked her, I just so happened to think her two-line voice audition was the best suited to Georgie (out of about 30 really grea...t ones). Score! Go follow Naomi Sequeira for more of her wholesome content and great work, including a role in @romanceonthemenu coming soon to Netflix. #georgieshortfilm #arufflife #shortfilm #naomisequeira #actor #thespian #netflix #legend #badpublicity

08.01.2022 This looks GOOD!

07.01.2022 I grew up with animals, and I always felt a lot for them, but I wasn't really educated on them. We were farmers on my dad's side, and blue collar immigrants on my mother's. We had dogs growing up and other animals were food, or incidental to the land. The dog I grew up with, Yella, was a beautiful soul. A happy go lucky lab, who just wanted to play and be around people always. As I got older, and I got more self-centred, I stopped making time for her. She was tied up in the... backyard. After school, I would run past her and wave, and tell myself that was enough. Eventually she died, and it took me years to process it. I would say a goodnight prayer to her every night before bed, for years to come. We had other dogs who didn't make the cut. We didn't have time to look after them. Bully was sent back to my Pop's farm, and eventually sold to someone else. I visited her there after giving her away, and just patted her through the gaps in her enclosure. Chi Chi was too noisy, so she was given away, I never asked where. As a young man, coming of age, I had incidents of hurting animals. I didn't burn any cats, but I did intentionally kill lizards, spiders, fish, attack birds. Some I cared about, some I didn't spare a thought for. More recently, and this has been a hard pill to swallow, I bought a bulldog, Baby. I found what I thought to be a reputable breeder, and met Baby's mother, Porcha, while she was pregnant. We later chose Baby from a photo. At 12 weeks old, we went to pick her up, and noticed that Porcha was worse for wear. She was tired and skinny, ribs sticking out, not like a bulldog at all. We thought perhaps this was normal after giving birth. Roughly 6 months later, we saw on the breeder's page that Porcha was pregnant again. This time she didn't survive. Raising Baby from a puppy has felt like raising a child to me, and so has taught me some really hard lessons. Again, adopting a greyhound has been a unique and educating experience. This is why I made this little film. As with any creative thing, I'm just expressing my feelings, and exercising some demons. Thanks for reading and watching ‘Georgie’. Indy. #dogs

07.01.2022 Here’s the boxing match I had in London. I didn’t promote this much at the time, I went through a complex range of emotions about it. Still kinda am. Firstly it was bloody gruelling. The training was intense, sometimes 3 hours long. I obviously had to learn how to defend myself, which was totally foreign to me, and I was way too hard on myself diet wise. I had no energy for work, and more or less gave up on my job at the time. The fight also got cancelled a few times, and th...e psychological toll of that was fucked. I got called up for this fight a little after Christmas and I only had a few days to prepare. Including losing 8 kilos for the weigh in. Anyway safe to say afterwards I felt a huge sense of relief and I was like, what the fuck was that all for? I didn’t feel good. I almost felt traumatised tbh. I came to recognise I more or less did it for validation. I spent my childhood idolising hyper masculine ideals and at the same time, was a really timid and insecure person. Now in my adult prime, and undercover in a foreign land, I sought to prove to myself, or better yet to all those people who didn’t offer me validation, that I was indeed a man. And what better way than with competitive hand to hand combat. Anyway I’m posting it now, kinda proud of the work I put in, kinda still traumatised, kinda want the validation, but mostly as part of my ongoing study of my own toxic masculinity. I think I’m blessed with the mix of empathy and reckless experience that allows me to acknowledge my faults and learn from them. So yeah, definitely wouldn’t do it again, I think violence is cowardly, but I also love the art and science of self-defence. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/dsEX1sOE2AE
