23.01.2022 The title of this print AKANA GUWA translates to Grandmother’s garden bed in my language. It is based on the teaching of gardening from our grandmothers. All plants, fruits and vegetables are identified in our language. This knowledge is connected to the seasons and its transitions. It is a very significant diet part of my culture. I grew up helping my grandmother in the gardens. This knowledge I have cherished and plan to hand it down to my children.... Matilda Nona
