25.01.2022 We’re frantically working to finish all our orders before Christmas (because *commitment*) but we still provide the exceptional customer service we were providing before it all went cray cray (thanks lockdown). ‘Busyness’ is not an excuse for poor communications or customer service to ANYBODY - whether that is a new, returning, big or small customer. Unfortunately, we’re having a few disappointing experiences lately with a few suppliers, which will ultimately impact on our cu...stomers (and we’re not happy) which made me think about: a) how they see us in their ‘priority’ list, and b) accountability (or lack thereof). Proud to say we have an exceptional track record of good communcations and customer service, and are always accountable when things don’t go as planned.

25.01.2022 All my sleep deprived brain can think of right now is laying on this bed and having 8 hours of uninterrupted (kick-free) sleep. Since this is probably unrealistic - what if I instead dreamt about it (ie the uninterrupted sleep)....will I wake up feeling like it *actually* happened? Asking for a friend here. 20.01.2022 If youve been following our stories, youd have seen the BTS of this photo shoot last Thursday. What you didnt see? Well...Rocky and I taking the mattress out of our home early morning that day for the shoot. Did I mention it had no handles? None...how someone can be so cruel as to make a mattress without handles?!?!?! After the shoot I ran to my car to pick my daughter from childcare only to find the battery was flat. Thank god we were in a tradie zone.... At 9pm, when said daughter was fast asleep, we were trying to get the mattress into our apartment, pouring down with rain and the lift was broken - one floor wasnt too bad but that mattress (with no handles!!!) weighed too many kilos for my little muscles. Thanks Rocky for doing it mostly solo. Needless to say we both had a glass of wine and went straight to bed. At least the photos are worth it! #airmattressnexttime #smallbusiness

A chance to review our strategic approach to the business (or create one), update business plans and give some serious thinking about the way the business is going and where wed want it to be. My FY resolutions will be to be get the house in order, set processes in place and *seriously* upgrade our strategic outlook to this business [I also promise to actually follow through with this...contrary to all my New Year resolutions whic...h hardly ever eventuate...at least this year I could blame the pandemic!]. 17.01.2022 Whats been your highlights for this week? This one was particularly hard (in case the 4 days since my last post didnt serve as a hint). Migraine+my other full time job+this job = pretty sh*t week. But I learnt that, no matter what youre going through, there are always things to be thankful for. My highlight this week was receiving an email from a (many many times) returning customer to confirm yet another order, and refusing to accept the discount we offered (for her incre...dible loyalty to our business over the past 2 years) on the basis that this was a hard time for small businesses and that she valued the quality of our work. .*speechless*and trust me, this doesnt happen that often! To me, this reflects how *hard* we work, not only on the quality of our furniture, but on the customer service we provideand for this, this completely made my week. Happy Friday friends!

05.01.2022 Im a great believer in getting to know the people behind the product. So, here are some fun facts about myself - Marina or Mazz. Im a Dietitian, with a Master of Public Health, and currently work in the disability sector - apart from BA. Rocky (B.As MD) and I met 11 years ago at the spring break in Cancun, Mexico. I dont like cheese . But I do eat pizza and put parmesan on pasta #nosense... My first hospitality job ever was when I arrived in Australia (and lied on my resume to get it) and I think it took 0.001 secs for my first employer to notice this. I worked in the sector for another 2 years and met the best people. Keen to hear your fun facts (or your reactions to mine!). Let me know in the comments below!

Saying we went through some challenging times (suddenly having to run the business solo) is an understatement. 02.01.2022 Shout out to BA’s team who go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service - as an addition to our furniture! Today we had one of our very first customers (I’d say he got one of the first 20 tables we built) visit us to put another order in. Since we started we changed business names and address, and he literally went out of his way to find us - both online and in person, coming from the other side of town to check our showroom.... I feel blessed to have these people in our business life, supporting and still remembering us *years* after their first purchase.

Our most popular timber vanity takes its name from Jos de San Martin, aka El Libertador, an Argentinian general who led the fight for Argentinian independence, and that of neighbouring countries. His name is understandably used to name a lot of places and streets, including our furniture!... If youve been to Argentina, particularly Buenos Aires, I can almost guarantee you heard this name somehow. Let me know!
