24.01.2022 We have been working hard with our riverboat partners, Brisvegas Cruises, to keep afloat the Night Boat to Madness (III) scheduled for 9th May. The developing national emergency in the past weeks forces us now to postpone our floating House of Fun for a while. We are not sure when we will get underway again but as soon as we can we will. Many of you had snapped up your tickets within the first weekend of them going on sale and youll be wondering what happens now. Ther...e are a couple of choices and Brisvegas Cruises will be emailing you soon about this. The first is a full credit for your ticket purchases to be carried forward to the day the Night Boat to Madness (III) sails. Your tickets are pre-paid for the next sailing date, meaning you will not miss out and you are guaranteed a place on board not having to buy them again. After we announce the new date if it isn't suitable Brisvegas Cruises will refund you at that time. The second is a full refund now for your tickets, which will be processed quickly if that is your preferred option. There may be less tickets for sale next time seeing how quickly and how many were sold this time and we anticipate many of you will carry forward your tickets to the next sailing. Nevertheless, Brisvegas Cruises will refund you without question if thats your preference. All ticket buyers will be receiving an email tonight about these options. We're really sorry that we've had to do this but we know you'll understand. Please, stay strong for each other, cheer up, give a whistle and remember the chorus of our favourite show-ending song ... 24.01.2022 But for the the virus we would all be sailing along the Brisbane River right now on the Night Boat To Madness (III). The best we can do for now is remember how much fun we had the last time we set sail and look forward to the next one, which (fingers crossed) may come sooner than we ever thought possible. 24.01.2022 Finally, restrictions lifted and pubs/clubs being allowed 100 people inside ... finally back on stage we thought ... but no, no, no ... no dancing allowed ... how can we do Madness without a whole load of skankin' nutty dancers ? We can pack a rugby scrum with 16 sweaty players, we can go to a high-energy Zumba dance class but we can't have dancing at a Baggy Trousers show. 23.01.2022 Three weeks from today the Night Boat to Madness gets underway again on the Brisbane River. The RiverFire laser show will be happening overhead as we cruise the river to the nutty sound of Madness and backdrop of the city sights. 18.01.2022 It's really sad to see the Retro Bar in Kenmore has been forced to close ... a whole load of financial pressure and no external support just made it impossible to continue. Baggy Trousers enjoyed some great nights at the Retro Bar and we're all really sad to see it go under. 14.01.2022 Thank you all so much for your fantastic response to our cunning plan for getting our Mad-Boats back on the River. We are so looking forward to seeing you all again and playing a few Madness songs with you all. Many of you have asked about getting tickets so we want to give you the latest information to manage everyones expectations. Many of you held onto your tickets from the earlier postponed Night-Boat. Brisvegas Cruises has Emailed each of these ticket buyers to offer... first refusal on one of these cruises on the 26th September or a refund if this doesnt suit. Would those of you who havent yet replied to Brisvegas, let Barrie know what youd like to do by this Sunday evening latest so we can work out how many tickets we can offer on each cruise. 11.01.2022 Only four weeks to go .... Weve been busy with Brisvegas Cruises resolving the situation for those who had tickets from our postponed Night Boat from early May. It took a few days but the good news is we're sorted and the remaining tickets are now going on sale Friday this week. As expected, there are more tickets currently available for the sunset cruise, which we have now delayed to a 4.30 pm departure giving us about an hour of twilight before sunset and the remaining t...ime surrounded by the lights along the river and a whole load of music. The format on board will be a bit different on these NIght Boats but we reckon youll love it. 08.01.2022 Opportunities for the Baggy Trousers Total Madness Tribute Show have been few for a long time but we've been working with our mate Barrie the Boat, our fantastic Night Boat Captain. We have a cunning plan to get back on the river with two (yes two) virus friendly cruises in one day. Currently, were allowed 50 guests on board each trip; so we thought wed put together two three-hour cruises on one day, one after the other. Heres the plan: the Sunset River Mad-Boat get...s underway about 4pm and returns to the pontoon about 7pm; then 50 new guests come aboard onto the Starlight River Mad-Boat and get underway at 7.30pm for another three hours of Madness afloat. Were looking at the cancelled River-fire date, Sat 26th September but its not confirmed just yet. (Maybe a week or two later) The most important piece in this is you; all of our friends. Would you want to join us on one of these events with the fantastic Brisvegas Cruises team? Please let us know if youd like to join us (some of you already have tickets from the Night Boat postponed from May). 07.01.2022 Forty years since the smash hit 'Baggy Trousers' was released and now only one week before Baggy Trousers gets afloat this coming Saturday on the Night Boat along the Brisbane River. Response has been fantastic so far ... there are only two tickets remaining for the Sunset Cruise and there's a rumour going round there may be a couple coming available in the next day or so (Tix returns) for the evening show ... watch this space. It's been six months since our last show so we are really looking forward to seeing you and playing a few Madness sing-along tunes with you all again. 07.01.2022 Looking back through some older material we found this great video from just over a year ago when we had a fantastic night at the Triffid. It's the magnificent Madness seven's "Night Boat to Cairo" and we had an absolute blast that night. Turn up the volume and imagine you are there (again). Speaking of which, we will again be pushing out the Night Boat on the Brisbane River in only a couple of months from now. Announcement will be coming soon and there will be a pair of Night Boat tickets being given away at our Retro Bar show on Saturday 7th March. 03.01.2022 A year ago, the second Saturday in April, Baggy Trousers appeared for the first time at the Full Moon Hotel at Sandgate. We had a great night. Back then, Corona was just a beer, pubs and dance-floors were full and social distancing didn't exist. They were good times and in a while will come again ... but for now, for those of you at home this Easter in need of a spot of light relief, here's a little reminder of the good old days. 01.01.2022 Hey You ...... our first show of the year has just been announced (only five weeks away) and were looking to start the year on a high. Sadly, Alexi, our drummer, went back to France for Christmas and will not be re-joining us. We've found a replacement and were looking forward to getting on stage soon with our new Daniel Woodgate. We are also working up a load of other Madness songs you've requested this year along with all our old favourites. Currently, were very busy in the rehearsal studios getting our new line-up and songs ready. The Night Boat will be sailing again (announcement coming soon) and we have some great shows already lined up with several new venues in the pipeline Its going to be a big year and wed so love to share it with you all.
