22.01.2022 For Baha’is the twelve-day period between April 21st and May 2nd marks the holiest and happiest festival of the year, called Ridvan (pronounced Rez-wan). These Baha’i Holy Days, which celebrate the beginning of the Baha’i Faith in 1863 as its Founder Baha’u’llah prepared for exile, also recognize a period of great turmoil in Baha’i history and signify the transformation of suffering and oppression into joy. Three of the twelve days of Ridvan the first, ninth and final day, ...which fall respectively on April 21st, April 29th and May 2nd have special significance. Baha’is observe and celebrate those holidays by abstaining from work and taking part in gatherings, observances, parties and picnics. These joyous occasions, often characterized by reflection, prayer and reading from the Baha’i writings, remind Baha’is that devotion to a noble cause dedicated to the service of humanity can bring us great and lasting happiness. A hundred and fifty years ago, on April 29, 1863, the ninth day of Ridvan, the flooding Tigris receded enough so that Baha’u’llah’s family could cross the river and join him on the island. This symbol the reunification and strength of the bond of family, and by extension the unity of the entire human family permeates the meaning of the ninth day of Ridvan. You are all warmly invited to attend the 9th Day of Ridvan with your friends and families . Please see invitation below

16.01.2022 DECLARATION OF THE BAB The Declaration of the Bab will be celebrated on Wednesday 23rd of May at the Baha`i Centre at 7.30pm. You are all invited to join this special celebration. Baha’is around the world celebrate the 22nd May 1844 as the day of the declaration of the Bab, who was the forerunner of Baha’u’llah the founder of the Baha’i Faith.... Baha’is view the Bab as a Messenger of God, who had a role that can be likened to John the Baptist (who told of the coming of Christ) in heralding the coming of the latest Manifestation of God: Baha’u’llah. The events surrounding the declaration of the Bab have been told in many ways, but perhaps the most widely read is the account in The Dawn-Breakers: Nabil’s Narrative of the Early Days of the Baha’i Revelation. This book was written by Nabil (one of the Letters of the Living), and chronicles the early days of the revelation of the Bab and Baha’u’llah.

16.01.2022 Naw-Ruz, is the Baha’i New Year, celebrated on the day of the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere. It also marks the end of the 19-Day Fast which is, as you might have deduced, the period of 19 days leading up to Naw-Ruz, in which Baha’is abstain from food and drink between sunrise and sunset. Naw-Ruz isn’t only a party it serves as a symbolic reminder of the oneness of all the messengers of God, and the spiritual springtime they each brought to humanity. Abdu’l-Baha... explains that Naw-Ruz represents the return of the Sun of Reality, when a re-awakening of the spirit occurs and the light of a new revelation shines equally upon the entirety of God’s creation: just as the solar cycle has its four seasons, the cycle of the Sun of Reality has its distinct and successive periods. Each brings its vernal season or springtime. When the Sun of Reality returns to quicken the world of mankind a divine bounty descends from the heaven of generosity. The realm of thoughts and ideals is set in motion and blessed with new life. Minds are developed, hopes brighten, aspirations become spiritual, the virtues of the human world appear with freshened power of growth and the image and likeness of God become visible in man. It is the springtime of the inner world In it the former springtime has returned, the world is resuscitated, illumined and attains spirituality; religion is renewed and reorganized, hearts are turned to God, the summons of God is heard and life is again bestowed upon man. Abdu’l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 12. All Welcome :)

14.01.2022 Ayyam-i-Ha, or the Intercalary Days, is a period dedicated to socializing, being hospitable, giving generously to the poor and needy, and preparing for the upcoming month of fasting. Depending on the year, Ayyam-i-Ha will vary in its duration and it is composed of the excess of days that fall outside of the 19 months of 19 days (if you’re curious, here’s more information about the Baha’i, or Badi, Calendar). In the Kitab-i-Aqdas, Baha’u’llah writes: Let the days in excess of ...the months be placed before the month of fasting. We have ordained that these, amid all nights and days, shall be the manifestations of the letter Ha, and thus they have not been bounded by the limits of the year and its months. It behooveth the people of Baha, throughout these days, to provide good cheer for themselves, their kindred and, beyond them, the poor and needy, and with joy and exultation to hail and glorify their Lord, to sing His praise and magnify His Name; and when they endthese days of giving that precede the season of restraintlet them enter upon the Fast.1 See more

05.01.2022 Addressed to the Baha'is of the World, in remembrance of the Master, during the commemoration of the Day of the Covenant and the Ascension of 'Abdu'l-Baha. Three brief years remain until the centenary of the Master's passing, when Baha'is the world over will gather and take account of the distance traversed over the first century of the Formative Age. May His loved ones, individually and collectively, little by little and day by day, increasingly embody His counsels: to be un...ited in the Cause and firm in the Covenant; to avoid calumny and never speak ill of others; to see no strangers but regard all as members of one family; to set aside divergent theories and conflicting views and pursue a single purpose and common goal; to ensure that the love of Baha'u'llah has so mastered every organ, part, and limb as to leave no effect from the promptings of the human world; to arise with heart and soul and in one accord to teach the Cause; to march in serried lines, pressed together, each supporting the others; to cultivate good character, perseverance, strength, and determination; to know the value of this precious Faith, obey its teachings, walk in this road that is drawn straight, and show this way to the people. That you may fulfill His highest expectations, we pray for each of you. 26 November 2018 message Universal House of Justice

03.01.2022 Naw-Rúz (Naw-Rúz, March 21, is the first day of the Bahá'í year.) Praised be Thou, O my God, that Thou hast ordained Naw-Rúz as a festival unto those who have observed the Fast for love of Thee and abstained from all that is abhorrent unto thee. Grant, O my Lord, that the fire of Thy love and the heat produced by the Fast enjoined by Thee may inflame them in Thy Cause, and make them to be occupied with Thy praise and with remembrance of Thee. Bahá’u’lláh... All welcome to attend. Please see details in the invite
