The connection was forged through Vanuatus first chocolate competition, organised by ACIAR research projects and supported by a growing network of partners.

13.01.2022 Vanuatu and its people have been dealt a very bad blow in what has been described as their worst natural disaster in living memory. For the past few years, we have been working closely with Activ Association who help improve the livelihoods of rural communities through many on the ground projects. A big part of their work is helping cacao farmers and very recently they have built their own chocolate factory to value add to their local harvest. They sold their first bar ch...ocolate last month... We have had no news about the families, farms or factory due to the lines of communication being down, but we are sure they are going to need plenty of assistance to rebuild.
