23.01.2022 Great day out for the Bailiamina kennel doing a breed info day with Collie and co. It was a booked out event show casing the great temperament of our dogs having 7 dogs off lead of all ages from 5 month to 3 years old.

14.01.2022 I’m sad to say my sister had to put down one of our own yesterday at the ripe old age of 10 1/2. Darcy will be missed by Simone and Murray. She had came back to us after not having a great start in life but ended up with an amazing one. My sister understood her limits and never put her in a situation that Darcy couldn’t handle. Thinking of you guys xx

10.01.2022 We have been a bit busy here at Bailiamina Rottweilers. 5 girls 4 boys all weighing between 400g - 460g are doing well.

04.01.2022 The pitfalls and heartbreak of being a Breeder: 1) Stock kept for Breeding does not score well for hips, elbows, JLPP, eye and mouth after putting in 2 years hard yakka. 2) Mating bitches and no puppies after spending $$$$$$ on purchasing semen, travelling to chosen dog, veterinary care and services... 3) Having bitch on vets table and semen is checked and it is no good and not having back up semen to use as one has their heart set on puppies from this particular mating 4) Bitch is in whelp after ultrasound at 4 weeks and absorbs litter 2 weeks later, I always feel sorry for the bitch also 5) Bitch starts whelping and puppies are born sleeping 6) Possible fading puppy syndrome, puppies fine one day and gone the next for no reason 7) Bitch sitting or laying on puppies 8) Bitch commences labour and after a period of time no puppies produced, so it is off to the emergency vet for a "c" section and again $$$$$ or she has whelped naturally and then at the very end there is a stuck puppy and then it is off to the vet 9) Vaccinating and microchipping day, vet checking puppies and finds small heart murmur in a puppy, be prepared to keep that puppy until you know it is clear and grown out of the heart murmur and ensure you are honest with new puppy buyer. 10) Most of all be super prepared for the ever dwindling balance on your bank account. Before commencing to think of breeding a bitch one needs approximately $6000 in ones bank account. 11) Be prepared for zero hours sleep for weeks on end and endless washing of bedding and cleaning of the whelping box and monitoring of puppy weights and watching bitch for any signs of her not being well. Then there is also looking after the rest of the dogs in the household and ensuring they are getting everything that they need. 12) Minimum 2 weeks off work Why do we do it for the love and preservation of this wonderful breed.
