23.01.2022 *Anzac day Public Service Announcement* Saturday morning at 0600h, former Army Sergeant and local CFA member, Andrew Cox will be conducting a 15min Anzac day service at the Kirwans Bridge station. We encourage everyone to participate in the dawn service by standing at the end of your driveway. Andrew will be using the PA so most residents in vicinity of the station will be able to hear at that hour of the day.... Please tag and inform your neighbours of the event. We will also be featuring the event via Facebook live. #anzacday #rslvictoria #cfa #veterans #volunteers #lightupthedawn #anzacathome

20.01.2022 Join Captain Koala for #FireActionWeek2020 as he talks through how you can help keep you and hour household safe this fire season by preparing your property.

18.01.2022 Almost 20% of burns admissions to The Alfred are caused by people throwing petrol or other accelerants on open fires. We are urging all Victorians to stay safe this weekend if you are around an open fire. We really don't want to come to your house (no offence)

18.01.2022 On Sunday afternoon, Our Brigade, along with Nagambie & Wirrate brigades attended a scrub fire in what's known as the gold diggers estate in Bailieston. This area is considered to be an "Extreme fire risk" within our assignment area due to the almost 50 properties located in very densely wooded & extremely dry terrain. There is also very minimal water in the area with most of the dams either dry or very low. Unfortunately, many of these properties are owned by holiday makers... who come to the area to get away camping, & ride their bikes around the bush, not realising that we are now in our fire danger period & having camp fires in not properly constructed fire pits as per the regulations, also not properly extinguishing these fires is illegal & can have very serious consequences. Luckily, The conditions were in our favour at the time & we had the incident under control very quickly. Had we had the conditions like the ones expected over the next two days, temps in the high 30's, very low humidity & winds around 40 kp/h the outcome may have been very different. See more

14.01.2022 It's been made official that CFA (as a whole) will unfortunately not be able to do the annual Red Sheild Appeal door knock on Good Friday due to the current Chinese Flu pandemic. We are still encouraging you all to donate to the Salvation Army here: https://www.salvationarmy.org.au//make-a-do/donate-online/... Please also remember that if you are burning off now that the fire restrictions have lifted, register your planned burn on 1800 668 511. We do not want to man the truck on a false call out and risk our own health in a preventable situation. Stay safe everyone

12.01.2022 Protecting almost 500 farm animals in a high fire risk area is a huge challenge. A recent fire preparedness session at Edgar's Mission by Craigieburn Leading Firefighter David Nightingale has highlighted the importance of property owners having a fire plan and practising it

12.01.2022 Attention! We have a defibrillator (AED) unit based at the station & is accessible to all of the community should it be required. A huge thank you to all of the people in the Kirwans Bridge community that kindly donated the unit. This idea may well be the reason that saves someone's life! The Brigade was so pleased with the community coming together on this that we decided to not only house it at the station but also maintain the unit & pay the yearly cost for replacing the... pads. Follow the link below to find out more on what an AED is and how it's used: https://www.google.com/url
