25.01.2022 Today, two of the club's newest members, Tom and Ryan made their first set of arrows. Ably assisted by Fiona and Katie, they cut their arrows, glued their tips and vanes to produce some pretty snazzy, smoking hot arrows. Making your own arrows is a great skill to have - congrats to you boys (and your assistants, of course)

25.01.2022 Hey, It looks like we won’t be able to shoot indoors until early next month. In the meantime, for those of you who can make it, we’ll open the club next Wednesday (20th) between 2.30 and 4.30. It will only be open to fully paid-up members of ABA and BFA. If you don’t have those memberships, please don’t come. If you have flu-like symptoms, please don’t come. However, if you have leprosy, ebola, smallpox, black plague, cholera, myxomatosis or even juju dance fever, there seems... to be no legal restrictions to you attending. PS. If you take that last sentence seriously, you’re banned from the club

22.01.2022 With all due respects to those members of WGFA that are still in lockdown in the forbidden zone ............. we the regionals had a great day . The first B...ranch G shoot since the Covid lockdown rules were relaxed for regional Victoria. It wasn’t a huge turn out but we all enjoyed ourselves. West Gippy set up part of the course that was to be used for the cancelled Covid State shoot early in the year and most found it challenging. Just a taste though the full courses will be used for the Branch Championships in late November. However there is always an exception. Trev shot a 400 in the afternoon And Leonie who shot a PB 390 Leonie’s B Grade looks like it is done and dusted. Well done to these two and to all that turned up. All observed social distancing protocols and masks were worn when required. All the elite athletes removing their masks to shoot. And others like me who just ate all day so I could keep mine lowered. Looking forward to the MTB shoot next Month. Hopefully those behind the ring of aluminium will be allowed out to play very soon. See more

17.01.2022 Hey, We’re having a General Meeting, 6pm Wed 24th June. It would be great to see a few faces there and have your input.

13.01.2022 Hey, Back to normal times next Wednesday, 4.30 start. See you there.

12.01.2022 Branch championships are finished. This shoot allowed our club to celebrate its 40th anniversary and for that we are grateful. All participants received a commemorative pin to mark the occasion. Thanks to all that made the weekend what it was.

11.01.2022 A beautiful day greeted 21 archers at MTB today...2 rounds of ABA animal targets over 2 courses sorted out those that havent had much shooting this year. Some awesome scores, and some improvements to be made. Well done to all who made trip to our club. See you all soon.

08.01.2022 Hey Folks, To those of you who have survived the lockdown, well done! To those who haven’t well, you probably won’t be reading this anyway. Because members have lost so much access to the club since March, the committee has decided to offer members who were financial at the time of lockdown, a 50% discount on the 2020-2021 membership fees. The fees will be, individuals $75 and families $150. The fees are due before 30th June and I would appreciate you paying before then.... As always you need to be a financial member of ABA so at the time you pay your club fees please send me a pic (email or sms) of your current membership card. There are a number whose ABA memberships ran out recently and whose ABA cards I have not seen. See more

06.01.2022 WGFA hosted the G Branch Championships this weekend. Alex and Arch represented BFA and shot well in their divisions. Well done Arch, shoot an A grade score both days. Once more and they’ll be sticking you into A grade. It was also good to see ex Bfa members Ollie and Josh having a go after having a break these last few years. A big shoutout to Leonie, Trevor and the rest of the crew at WGFA for the massive amount of work put into the facilities and ranges at the club. It was an absolute pleasure to shoot those challenging ranges.

05.01.2022 I had a bit of a chuckle this morning when I saw on the news, a fireman proudly proclaiming how they had saved half of the load of toilet paper of a B Double that had crashed and caught fire. Those crazy city people. My mirth was short-lived, when upon entering the Bainsdale Aldi store just a few moments ago, I noticed the shelves were bare and there were no paper toiletry products anywhere in sight. There was not a single, solitary poo ticket to be had! Suddenly, like the o...pening of a flood gate, the knowledge gained from decades of watching movies, gushed to the forefront of my mind. Now, I don't want to sound alarmist, but it became painfully obvious that we were in the precursory stages of a Zombie Apocalypse! All we need now is for those who have sadly passed from CV to come back as Zombies and it's game on! Despite the years of ridicule from the PC crowd, we in the arrow slinging fraternity, have been silently preparing for this day - tuning our bows, improving our accuracy, sharpening those broadheads. All that hard work has finally paid off. Who's laughing now, you latte sipping, avocado munching urbanites? As most of you are aware, we are having a club shoot at 1pm this Saturday. We were going to shoot the ranges, but I think that it would be prudent to maybe recap on "How to defend against the Undead 101" Sweet dreams. PS A bit of pre-study https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDODyGxZrns

02.01.2022 Alex and Arch headed down to Newry for today's ABA shoot. For all you couch potatoes, you missed out on a great day of shooting. Macalister turned on the sun and set a couple of great courses. Arch, (our longest serving junior) shot a PB today. Good work, Dude - sticking at it is starting to really pay off.

01.01.2022 Some of you may have seen this before, but it's always good to be reminded of what a bit of application and tenacity can achieve

01.01.2022 There’s an arrow making workshop at the club this Sat 14th Mar. The kickoff is at 9.30 sharp. They normally take 3-4hrs to make, so bring drinks snacks etc to last you that long. For those who just want to get some practice in, the gates will be open. You’ll just need to look after yourselves, as I’ll be busy with the arrowmakers. See you then.
