25.01.2022 The book of Ruth is hard not to like. Outcast woman becomes hero of the story. You could almost say Ruth is an ancient prototype of today's Hollywood leading ladies who protect the world against all forms of evil. We could say that ... but we'd be wrong. There is so much more in this story than a casual read will see ... and as we get to Ruth and Boaz's chapter three nighttime encounter things developed at a rapid pace ... tension, risk, uncertainty and some soul lifting spir...itual truth. This Sunday 17th May. If you are looking to meet with us on Sunday morning during COVID shutdown then our online church service opens at 9:45am. 19.01.2022 Yes, tomorrow morning we still meet together, looking at one of Scriptures tough passages in Isaiah 63:15~19. Following our government guidelines about distancing, we will hold 3 services with families allocated to attending each service so as to limit numbers. At each service we will sing, pray and hear God’s word together. We also understand some will either need or choose to stay home. The services will be: 9:30am Surnames between A and H. 11:00am Surnames between H an...d S. 4:00pm Surnames S and Z We will be spacing seating and have sanitiser at entry. To parents with young children it is to your discretion whether to attend since distancing may be difficult with young ones. 15.01.2022 Romans 8 calls God's people ... all God's people ... to be ruthless. Yes that's right ... ruthless. Not in a way we might initially realise. Different to how our world normally perceives being ruthless. But still ruthless. And if we heed this Romans 8 ruthless call, it will lead to greater peace, richer spirituality and more effective witness to the great love of God. Join us this Sunday 11th October. 15.01.2022 We are saved by grace, through Jesus death and resurrection. With faith in Jesus we are counted righteous. We are not righteous, but justified sinners. We are the wicked considered righteous because Jesus is righteous for us in our place. So what then is our relationship with sin and God's Law? Tomorrow morning 27th Sept ... 12.01.2022 So Ruth chapter four finishes the Ruth story and it all looks like a happy ending. Poor girl has met rich boy. Rich boy has been nice to poor girl. Girl and boy become a thing together and get married. Then the family starts. But behind the happy ending is tragedy. Three tragedies in fact. And all three are tragedies we can fall into. The happy ending makes the tragedies easy to miss ... but this Sunday we are going to heed their wisdom and enjoy the happy ending too. See you... 10am Sunday 24th May. 11.01.2022 Every good story has a compelling character and as the story of the New Testament church unfolds Paul the Apostle is the man. Of course he's secondary to Jesus and the Spirit ... but of the earthly beings under the spotlight Paul is the headline act. So what makes him tick .. and what does his story tell us about the great need of the church today, the heart call to us His people and the pathway to hope for a world that needs to see Jesus? We'll find out together (Acts 9:1~31...) Sunday morning at 10am. 06.01.2022 Isaiah 55:10~11 are some loved and encouraging Scripture ... my word (says God) will accomplish that for which I send it ... but why are those words given through Isaiah and at thus particular moment in the Scripture story? This Sunday we consider Isaiah's encouragement for hope in a worldwide salvation. See you then.

04.01.2022 This Sunday we start a new series in the book of Ruth, lifting our hearts into the incomparable promises of the Lord's redemption. This week we set the scene to see how the first few introductory verses make the story more captivating than we could imagine and how this 2000 year old story jumps straight into our concerns for today. Looking forward to being Gods people gathered together. During COVID 19 Bairnsdale Presbyterian is meeting via Zoom on Sundays. Just go to our website and click the link to join.
