10.01.2022 FINAL CALL Last week Bairnsdale and District Agricultural Society held its annual general meeting, however, disappointingly, only eight people attended. It was a sad moment for the show committee, with no one volunteering for the role of secretary or treasurer within the executive committee. The Bairnsdale Show has been running for 141 years and has a rich history. People of all ages love the show. Many people throughout Bairnsdale and the surrounding communities have been ...involved in the show for a very long time. It would be sad to see the show end. The general committee is calling a special general meeting as a last attempt to keep the historic Bairnsdale Show alive this coming Tuesday, March 16, 6pm at the Bairnsdale Racecourse. Let’s keep the tradition of the Bairnsdale Show alive. #volenteerswanted #bairsdaleshow #theshowmustgoon

Busch Organics' Kane Busch said the crop was worth $150,000 - plus growing costs like water, fertiliser and hand weeding. For the full story see next week's Bairnsdale Advertiser... Top, harvest of the celery crop featured on the front page of the Advertiser before Christmas has started but is well behind schedule, while at the base is the mulched crop.
