25.01.2022 While we may be home rather than at a club practice day this Saturday it doesn’t mean we can’t spend some time learning to hit more targets. Take a look at this video on sprinting reals from the worlds best sporting clays shooter, George Digweed. There are plants of others to watch too. Stay safe. See you soon.

24.01.2022 Due to the inability to get through more than a couple of pre-booked sessions for a total of only 10 members on the practice ground & the current uncertainty of local COVID situations we are cancelling this Saturday’s practice-shoot. Watch Facebook page & emails for details of August shoot weekend. At this stage we still plan to go ahead with an event. Format to be decided.

24.01.2022 Placed two different new duck nesting boxes in Macleod Morass State Game Reserve in areas where lots of Black Duck frequent. These heavy thick plastic pipe make... excellent breeding boxes. They’ve been placed approximately 500mm above the water and close to secluded and well vegetated swamp edge. See more

24.01.2022 Book now to shoot Sunday 12th July at Bairnsdale Field & Game. After the success & feedback on the June event, and uncertainty around restrictions we'll again run a 50 target social shoot with DOOR PRIZES. Get a couple of mates or a whole squad and book your start time. 10 stations takes about 90 minutes and you can do whatever else you want for the rest of the day! Mow lawns, go fishing, fire up the back yard campfire... Start times for squads on the roster in comments below. Please turn up 20-30 mins earlier to set up, collect score card & walk down to first station. Sorry, but due to advice from FGA and COVID restrictions there will be no Clays Only shooters permitted. All shooters must be financial members. Membership or renewal can be paid on the day.

24.01.2022 As 2020 draws closer to a welcome end, we're sticking with the same format. We will investigate a return to comp as some other clubs are starting to work it out, but Dec is always 50 tgt anyway, so we'll wrap 2020 up as 50 target events with Door Prizes, which seem to have been fairly popular. 21.01.2022 It’s hard to see that DELWP have been anything other than deliberately disingenuous in their social media with this post. The work of the volunteers in restoring the Heart Morass is a world class effort. But there is no acknowledgement in this that it was Gary and the volunteer duck hunters from Sale Field & Game that under took this amazing work. It’s a genuine shameful piece of deliberate spin, that DELWP have not acknowledged the work of Sale Field & Game and hunters in this video. You could even think they were deliberately seeking the ill informed anti hunting comments that have plagued the comments.

21.01.2022 Bookings have now reopened. After discussion today on how to maximise compliance with COVID19 and support as many groups of less than 20 as we can accommodate in complete compliance with FGA guidelines on COVID19 operation we will increase the number of stations to 5 stations on 2 grounds. There will be minor changes to the start times for those already booked and if it causes any issues please let us know. Given that we have nearly 12 squads booked the change will allow more... members to get involved safely while maintaining distancing requirements. 20.01.2022 Thanks to all who are using MCMS to nominate online. Certainly much easier to administrate (and use) than the booking system we used in June/July and we're getting great feedback already. , , PLEASE DON'T . . I just happened to read some of the comments below where people have requested times, but many haven't noted them in their booki...ng on MCMS. I've now redone the squadding to accommodate as many as I can but it moves others too. When we see your booking it's clear there's a message, and the message sits in the booking. The next bubble to the right is the group code that tells us you all want to shoot together. You can book for a group, or just pay for yourself and tell us you're one of 2-6 shooters. Then just text the group code to your mates and if they add it to their booking you're flagged as a squad or part of a squad.

20.01.2022 Competition is back! This Sunday - 75 targets ASF Sim Grd at Bairnsdale. Shot on one ground in our usual pre-COVID format. As we generally don't get 100 shooters to a January shoot we should be okay to run our normal format with opportunity to social distance together between rounds. Club house will be open but masks will be required in the clubhouse and capacity limits based on 4m2 rule will apply. Please use the hand sanitizer & wipes provided for remotes etc. We are still... capped at a total group size of 100 on site as we have no way of preventing one group of less than 100 from mixing with another group of less than 100 - see notes below. Event will be shot as three separate visits of 25 targets on one ground. - . . Squadding will be published on Facebook, and those that want to start at a particular time can request it in the messages section in pre-nomination. Requested times will be matched as closely as we can. Start times will be in approximately 8 minute intervals from 9am. 17.01.2022 With Victorian rural areas now in Stage 3 COVID restrictions there will be no comp & no practice shoot events as scheduled in the FGA Shoot Book until they are lifted or altered. You may still hear occasional shooting at the club as there are limited exceptions under this Stage 3 for Australian team athletes in elite sports programs and we have several that train at BFGA.

16.01.2022 Today we had the June Social Shoot in lieu of our monthly event, as we couldn’t run comp under COVID19 restrictions. Good news in the announcement today that comp can resume in non-contact sports. So hopefully we could be back in some form of normal event in July!! If not we’ll put something else together so watch this space! Without comp today we thought we’d still dish out shells in a door prize draw from today’s shooters.

After they have shot their first five stands on which ever layout they started on (top/bottom) they will shoot the other to complete their 50 targets. If squads are walking down or back we ask that they avoid contact with others on the track. There are alternate tracks to use. 08.01.2022 ' - Bairnsdale Field & Game will shoot a modified program on the 14th June for our monthly shoot. 50 targets in two visits to 6 stations with a shotgun start. Booking is required. Plenty of birds nesting, very large number of Strawneck & White Ibis, Royal Spoonbill, Musk Duc...k, Blue-Billed Duck including most common species. Lots of young water birds including swans with cygnets the best in East Gippsland since the early 1980’s. Construction of new bird boxes in full production ready for project areas and to replace old ones that have served well over 40 years. See more

02.01.2022 Without the lifting of the groups of 10 restrictions before Sunday, we can't get enough groups through the nov ground on Saturday, so practice is cancelled. There is usually no practice in December due to how close that day is to Christmas, and commitments of members and volunteers to family.
